Welcome henrypootle! Newbies flying in from all directions!
I got pmmed for the postal address for Give and Make Up from someone who had missed the free label offer but still wanted to give.
All addresses are on this page. http://www.giveandmakeup.com/p/where-to-senddrop-off.html
One of them is very near to my sister, who isn't very well at the moment, but when (God willing) she is better, I'll encourage her to perhaps think of parting with some of her stash. Hmm. That might be a challenge.....Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
UU- ice cream pink bath bomb from Notcutts WIBA maybe it didn't really smell or foam but bath water felt lovely.
Well I went looking for Glamour in the shop near work...lucikly they only had the lip gloss so I didn't sin:jDebt free and busy treating myself:)
No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales0 -

I have enough elderly moisturiser or stuff that doesn't quite suit my skin to keep me going in footcream all year. As an added bonus, my feet haven't been this healthy in years.
In fact I think I'll take a shower later - see if I can finish off that S&G shower gel (goes on forever) and use some creams.
Nearly used up:
Elemis collagen body cream - wiba NO! Smell = yuck, dreadful. Texture = meh, ok. Very expensive stuff (luckily this was a freebie) and very over-rated.
Clarins multi active day cream - wiba no with money but to get as a gift with purchase. I'm beginning to race through my richer creams - which is good. I'd much rather be using them than storing themDeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

No INs or UUs for me today but I have repainted my nails. Now am wearing this colour: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_3QwOQ9KkdW8/SqVJEWcQorI/AAAAAAAAFFM/lcIyrOTjOlI/s1600-h/angoracardi.jpg
This is Angora Cardi from the Essie 2009 collection. Funny thing is that it now matches a handbag I recently bought. Colour trends can't change that much then?Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

OK - forgive me girls for I have sinned (badly!!!)
Somehow managed to buy the Elemis TSV from yesterday - yes, I was suckered in by the 3 easypayments! and then bought a Glamour Mag for the mascara (and would have bought another if the 2 stores I checked in had had the lipstick I wanted).
Shuffles off to the naughty step....0 -
I won't of course... having joined here I now see the error of my ways and shall avoid *those* shops! But does anyone else have a bit of a comfort buying problem, or is it more hoarding good bargains etc for you guys?
Alternatively, do you just get distracted by sparkly pretty things?
All of the above! Especially the sparkly pretty things. Before joining this thread of course.
Congrats Jacks on managing 63 days without any toiletry spends! You are here to show the rest of us how it should be done :rotfl:.
And my new inspiration to not buy extra copies of that pesky magazine. I got one through my subscription and I don't NEED anything else.
On a bit of a roll at the start of the month with 4 UU to report!!
Pantene Ice Shine heat defence spray - WNBA, didn't think it made a difference and have a fair few hair styling things to get through.
Avon Clearskin Deep Pore cleansing scrub - WBA if Avon still sell it when I need to buy more facewash! It had lots of scrubby bits and left my face nice and tingly clean.
Estee Lauder sample of Perfectionist serum - WNBA, not this exact one because it says it is for age spots and wrinkles and I'm not quite there yet! It did leave my skin feeling nice and smooth so would consider another EL serum if the price is right
5 year old conditioner I had decanted into a travel bottle, no idea what brand, wasn't even sure if it was conditioner until I tried it out! Could have been body lotion for all I knew!
No INs for March so far, but then I do work in the middle of nowhere so not much opportunity to shop! I will try to avoid all temptations at the weekend.
xxNo more buying unnecessary toiletries 2018
35 UU / 13 unnecessary ins0 -

I had a bit of an epiphany this morning - I think I'm a comfort buyer when it comes to toiletries! Woke up with a very painful tooth (or rather non-tooth after having it out this week!) and part of my coping mechanism to make myself feel better was debating whether to buy the Aveda shampoo and conditioner today that I've been lusting after or something else equally naughty! (Considering I'm pretty sure I have enough to last me at least another 3 years!)

I'm like "Oooh pretty!" and I buy things to treat myself, and I much prefer to get a bargain than to pay full price - but my biggest problem is that I basically want to try out every single make up product in existence to make sure that I'm using the best ones!:o:Dbargainbetty wrote: »Welcome to the boards! For me it was a bit of both.... I have a siege mentality on basics like shower gel (and toilet roll - I'm down to 30 for anyone who remembers last month's declaration) but I have a magpie attitude on skincare. If it promises to make me prettier and healthier looking and wonderful and give me this awesome lifestyle then I'd buy it. A week later, I'd be looking for something else that might work!

Me too!I upload to Photobucket by emailing them from my mobile. Then log on via pc. When I hover the mouse on pic (sometimes have to move it away then back) at the top it comes up re-size. Or if on main edit screen there's a re-size button. I selected 320xsmthng as was going to paste them into post initially. Then just linked to them instead.
Thanks for the comments on my stash ladies. I am trying to work my way through it, but pretty things on special offer are my weakness!!
It helps keeping it slightly organised so I know where to find which shadow (usually). Also means I see things I'd forgotten I had & use them.
Taking photos did alert me to my addiction though
Guess at the weekend I'd better stare at my toiletries and perfume
I also got the Wella mini shampoo & conditioner in the post today. I think it's from supersavvyme.
Me too! I honestly thought I had quite a reasonably sized stash until it took me three hours to photograph it all!
Thanks for talking me through the photo procedure. :ANot everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted. Einstein0 -
For research purposes only, I went into B**ts & SD last night to look for the Barry M nail effects varnish, but both were sold out.
I've never tried Sleek makeup. Is it good?
But as I should, maybe delay buying the dead sea minerals stuff? Actually going to go look up what it is.
I'm a Sleek fan. The eyeshadow colours are really well pigmented so they don't lose their colour and go muddy on darker complexions. Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted. Einstein0 -
mcculloch29 wrote: »I don't even think I have too much of a problem, it was just that I never used stuff up. I didn't apply body lotions or body butters for example, whereas now I do. Religiously.
Why did I buy the stuff in the first place? Sometimes, as with the Lush solid shampoos and Imperial Leather Foamburst it's because I was intrigued by the novelty of the concept.
Sometimes, as with anything bought in Home Bargains, Poundland or Wilkinson's, it was because the price was just too good. :money:
Sometimes it was because it was a HG product (Mitchum deo or OS shower stuff) and on offer, regardless of what I had at home.
Sometimes it was because I just fancied a change.:D
My initial aim was not to buy shampoo for 2011. I still have that aim but it has expanded from mid Jan into no cash spends on toiletries at all. Boots / Tesco vouchers and Mother's Day /birthday gifts will cover any gaps.
I also love freebies - as is VERY clear - and as they are no cash spends, they are ok, in my book.
There are several products that have been or are being, used up uinder PRCP. The little Olay sample tubes are examples of this.
A question: How many of you are using (or have recently used) a product not designed as footcream on your feet?
I have enough elderly moisturiser or stuff that doesn't quite suit my skin to keep me going in footcream all year. As an added bonus, my feet haven't been this healthy in years.
I used up all my unloved moisturisers, body lotions, oils and eye creams on my feet (and elbows!)mad_scientist wrote: »All of the above! Especially the sparkly pretty things. Before joining this thread of course.

Thanks honey! After being the thread's resident Bad Example and Cautionary Tale :o:p I thought I'd go completely the other way for a while!
