Hello Scrappie and welcome! :T
UU to report: L'Occitane cherry blossom hand lotion
WIBA: nice smell and soaks in beautifully
Think I prefer the shea lotion though
(My Lush order arrived today. Everything looks and smells delish. My siggy has been updated to reflect the INS...:o)0 -
I don't normally browse the L'Occitane site, but valm's post got me thinking. I was wondering how much the hand creams usually are (I usually get them free with a magazine or reduced gift set) and I came across this
http://uk.loccitane.com/FO/Relaxing-Lavender-Trio,p95RETRELAXLAV11.htm
and this
http://uk.loccitane.com/FO/Romantic-Rose-Trio,p95RETROSE1411.htm
Do you think they're good value?
Yes, considering the hand cream alone is now £13.00. I've managed to attain loads of bars of L'Occitane soap mainly from TSV's and a couple from gift sets. Have only just used one up and am really impressed by the creaminess of them. I, personally, wouldn't go for the rose set as I have to be careful with rose scented products - they tend to irritate my skin. Have tried the Cherry Blossom hand cream which is also lovely.
Whilst looking at your link I had a look at the foot cream I have and now they have changed the packaging so that the sticker is blue. Would have been more helpful when I bought mine! To add insult to injury I've told MrM about it tonight and he said that he KNEW he was buying foot cream at the time and has sat and listened (or not listened - he's admitted that when I talk about cosmetics he "tunes out") to me saying that it doesn't work anymore. He even told me I should email L'occitane and tell them how dissatisfied I'm with the hand cream now.
Someone asked whether the Lavender foot cream is different to the shea one. I haven't applied it to my feet yet but will let you know if there's a different feel. Certainly the texture if different in that the lavender one is more of a light gel and the shea is thicker. The Shea also has rosemary in it as well so has more fragrance to it. If the lavender one makes my feet feel sticky I won't be impressed!minerva_windsong wrote: »On crackle, I'm holding out for the Models Own ones which come in nine different colours and are due to come out next month.
They are lovely. May have to treat Emma to another.
Tonight have placed my Asos/Groupon order. Would have got a L'Occitane hand cream but they only sell travel sizes in kits so instead I have gone for a 200ml tube of Yes to Carrots hand cream (better value), Dainty Doll Eyeshadow Base (doesn't look like they are going to hurry to restock Benefit Lemon Aid), a tube of Soap and Glory shampoo for Emma and a can of Batiste dry shampoo as you lovely ladies have raved about it previously.
Have also UU the tube of S&G Hand Food although most of it went on my feet! WNBA. Don't like this one as it's too greasy.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Welcome scrappie & gigglepig :hello: Start getting your lists ready we like a nose :rotfl:I've got this image of a room with an artificial Christmas tree and boxes of stock from the Boots 75% sale:rotfl:
Sadly you're not far wrong - if you throw in boxes from M&S Final Reductions/Lloyds 3for1/BS BS B3GOF sale :rotfl: Don't have room for a tree but do have a colourful display of 30 rolls of wrapping paper from the 10for£1 at Card Factory:rotfl: (I used 20 last year  and 10 are my mum's which I will give her next week). All my birthdays/xmas/etc are done for this year :T:T
While browsing on Saturday a sales assistant with loads of wrinkles tried to sell me a Decelor face cream costing €113, she looked as if she never used face cream of any sort herself.
:rotfl: and it's always the over-made-up ones who really push to try to sell you cosmetics. Really I don't want to buy a product that makes me look like a part-time clown :rotfl:
Been into town today and I've been badbut bargain bad :rotfl:
Spent my SD £3 voucher and a Boots £5 off WYS £20 voucher. I also got a £10 BS gift card from Clintons - and then the SA told me they had run out of £5 vouchers  Still the voucher was a considered spend as I chose it deliberately to put away for xmas-sale shopping next JanIf I just save the cash I'll spend it so it's easier for me to save that way
So ..... IN's
S/D Naturals Plum & Cherry Body Butter - £.69 but cost me 69p
Sanctuary Spa Radiance Exfoliator - £10.20 - but had a 300 points voucher
Sanctuary Me Time Gift Set - Free WYS £10 - has gone into the gift room for now but may come back out as I sort through it all this week
2 x Boots Expert Sensitive Conditioner - 50p each but have been put in the donate box for the shelter
3 x Boots Smile Whitening Toothpaste - 3for2 @ £1.83each - needed one so got threeone will go in the donate box
2 x Boots Therapy Muscle Soak Bubble Bath - £1.50 for 2 - as this is £1.52 for 1 it was silly not to get 2 :rotfl:
3 x Tesco Sensitive Face Wipes - fed up off using the nice Cucumber ones on the dogs so got these to try - 21p each
I got some 'ladies things' and cotton face pads (3for2) which I also needed and so spent about £18 in boots - a £20 spend for me today
Not joining in with the LYB special tomorrow - gonna stay in and continue to 'spring-clean'.
I'm going to put at least one item a week in the donate box so by the time it gets to December there will be at least 30 items to take - an extra £1 on my shopping a week won't be noticed. I'm also thinking of asking my friends and family to sort out their closets/bathrooms for unwanted clothes/toiletries instead of buying me anything for my birthday in June - I'll only end up with more in my stash otherwise :rotfl: Not sure how to word it though
I've given in and let OH have one of the new Bubble Baths - despite telling him he had to finish the strawberry one firstguess it'll go back in the box for me to use
Going to perch on the naughty step until bath time
ETA: I took some empties to Origin today and the SA told me they didn't have any samples  I didn't say anything to her but will be emailing Origin to complain because I know for a fact they have a huge 3 drawer unit filled with them because last time I was served by the Aveda SA (no-one from Origins around) and she let me choose my own sample from the unit. There is no way they've given out thousands of samples in the last fortnight - especially as I could see the last bunch of empties I dropped off still in the box :mad:0 -
Welcome newbies - you will fit right in with us lot !!!
Cant remember if I announced my UU yesterday or not - my waitrose bubble bath. WIBA?? it was the clemantine one, and YES - I love it. Not buying yet though - Ive got an orangey one from Boots to use next - though thats the only one I have now....
no ins either - and I love my hair smelling like a sweetshop thanks to my curl purple Tigi stuff !!!Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0 -
Morning ladies.
I wanted to get the Clinique GWP too but EH hit the nail on the head, they were all in the Glamour mag and i would just be buying them for a pretty tin, also none of the local boots have a clinique counter so would have to have gone further afield.
xoxo - Why don't you e-mail S&G from their website re the hair supply, lots of people have said it's awful but why should we put up with rubbish, they might send you a voucher to replace it with something else. I have Glad Hair Day in the stash and hope that's a lot better.
I am using Clean on me at the moment in the shower and as a body wash when in the bath, I bought this around this time last year and whilst I haven't used it full time it is still over half full. It lasts way too long and I get fed up using it every day. I don't think I will buy products in this size (500ml) again.
I am going to try really hard in April, might not go cold turkey but think i might put £20 aside in case I start to have withdrawal symptoms but will try not to spend it. If I know I can spend it I might feel better but if I say now that I won't spend at all then I will have given in during the first week.
EH was definitely right - I'm not going to get it now either.
Also agree about the 500ml sizes - I'm sick of using a 500ml s&g one now too
I'm not keen on the Hair Supply eitherI don't normally browse the L'Occitane site, but valm's post got me thinking. I was wondering how much the hand creams usually are (I usually get them free with a magazine or reduced gift set) and I came across this

RE: large size products, it didn't annoy me until I started this challenge! Currently the S&G The Daily Smooth is driving me mad. Trying to squeeze bb out of a tube is no fun  Going to wash out my EL moisturiser pot and squeeze it into there to use I think.
This really annoys me too! And I love Daily Smooth. Might decant iinto a pot as well
Hope you're feeling okay Sawan?
Promise purple crackle pics soon!minerva_windsong wrote: »Am I the only one who actually likes S&G Hair Supply then? I can't say I've noticed that it smells particularly bad and actually prefer a thicker textured deep conditioner.
Re: stripping dye out of hair, I used to use Lush I Love Juicy shampoo when I was trying to get the red dye streaks out of my hair. Possibly not good on red though as it went a bit ginger (hence why I wish I could Photoshop mine and OH's grad ball photo as apart from me having a ginger fringe it's a lovely picture).
On crackle, I'm holding out for the Models Own ones which come in nine different colours and are due to come out next month. Am not intending to buy them all but a fair few might find their way into my shopping basket...
Also, can anyone recommend a good deodorant/anti perspirant? I'm currently using a couple of Body Shop ones but since I started working out regularly they don't seem to be as effective as they were. I've got a Boots voucher for 100 points when buying female deodorant and the Body Shop ones are on the way out, so was wondering if anyone here had any recommendations.
 Ooh! Sounds very, very good! Few might find a way into my basket too!:rotfl:
Few INs to report (been to dentist today so thought I deserved a little treat)
Pantene color protect hair treatment
21p tesco wipes
mitchum solid deodrant (wish I had seen what you wrote about it forst though EH!)
clearasil face wash (was reduced to £1.35 in tesco...couldn;t rsist!:rotfl:)
Also got my e.l.f order today
Off to catch up on rest of the thread now!I want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul, I want you to notice when I'm not around0 -

I hate that, why won't they give them out, most of the big names have samples but if you can manage to get some your doing really well. When you ask they look at you like your the lowest of the low. Boots have big drawers of perfume samples behind the cash desks (proper little spary samples too) and my local store is quite good at giving a couple of these out.The devil makes works for idle hands0 -

Charlie792, good luck when doing your CV. It is such a hard job when you have to type up a new CV again. I hope you get the job.No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

Cue emptying and repacking bag, turning room upside down etc... and then finding it in one of my jacket pockets after putting it there in case I needed my ticket to get through the barriers at the train station
I'm naturally really dippy like that though, doing things like going upstairs and forgetting why I went up there or taking my glasses/jewellery off and then forgetting where I've put it. No wonder my mum calls me the absent minded professor!
I'm exactly the same! I used to run upstairs looking for a pen, with said pen actually in my hand!
Charlie792, good luck with the job applications - I remember when I first graduated (both times - BA and then MA just last year) and it was soul destroying both times trying to get jobs!
Must report an out - my Lush Egg Snog lip balm. I didn't use it up - I couldn't get the lid off and had to throw it out! This meant I had to go and buy a new lip balm, and The Body Shop were doing 3 for 2 so I now have 3 INS - Raspberry Lip Balm, Peppermint Foot Spray and 60ml Satsuma Puree Body Lotion.
I cut open my tube of Soap & Glory Slimwear when I couldn't get any more out and I have about a week's worth of product left in there! :eek:Sealed Pot Challenge Number 1225
