    Hi Bella,

Glad that you finally got sorted.
May I also said your experience in Phone4U store isnt unique!

I too wondered into Phone4U store this summer just to look around to see what were the new model. I ended up sit down with a sale person asking how much I spend each month on my phone and such alike. Before I realised what happened he pulled out a brand new phone from a SEALED box and said thing like "I love to see you bring this phone back with you today".

Anyway after a lot of NO and explanantion I finally got away from them by saying I have an appointment with my GP in 5 minute.

I sweared I will never walk into a phone4u store in my life. Their sale tactic is very presurise and intrusive, if I were a few years younger I knew I would have signed the contract that I wouldnt need that day as I am so afraid to reject it again and again.

What can I said, nowaday a lot of sale person just prey on people like us who are afraid/shy to say NO for many times. They know we will eventually buldge if they persist.

i went there for an interview and they even scared/worried me!! if i went in there not as a customer and felt like that id hate to think how customers feel!
the environment there is just horrible!
the staff from there (funnily enough where i had the interview and got the job) come in to my orange shop to nick our orange top up cards. they dont bother asking they just come and take them and try and sneak off with them!
    Yes Your Dukeiness :D
  • I walked into 3 phone shops today in town and all i got was a polite "Can i help you? etc and i just said "No i'm ok thanks" and that was it, in phones4u i was just browsing and he just said "how much do you spend a month?" , i didn't have an option to say no thanks to anything and they always have staff hanging around outside.

I'm gonna write a letter of complaint, it's just wording it and deciding how long it should be. I had no problem with their customer service-well the girl i spoke to anyway, just this shop. so what's happened with yours-is it cancelled?

  • This is the problem

I went into the shop with the intention of looking at Pay-As-You-go phones and was asked by a man how much i spend a month and i said maybe £10, sometimes maybe £15 and he got me to sit down and i ended up with a contract. I felt so pressured into having a contract, i turned down one handset cos it was horrible looking and all they kept asking me was "why don't i like it?" and "what's wrong " etc and i kept saying "Can i think about it", but i'm shy and quiet and they just ignored me and kept on and on, making me feel as though i was doing something wrong, and anyway i saw a different hanset and i did like it , but would rather have bought it rather than take out a contract, but they kept asking me how much i spent and how i'd save etc, and i felt so horrible when i signed the contract-anyway it's £40 a month with cashback , that will make it £20 a month. I decided to take it back the next day cos of the 14 day returns policy etc, and the man was so rude in the way he spoke to me when i told him i wanted to return it-again making me feel as i though i was doing something terribly wrong and when he asked why i said it was too expensive and he was all like "why did you have it in the first place" and i sat down again and again felt pressurred into having an extra £40 cashback by the sales staff, which would be sent as a cheque in a month. I took it back again, with the intention and determination of returning it cos i thought i still could with the 14 days returns etc and they said cos it had been saved by a redemption deal i couldn't now return it , and i asked what would happen if i cancelled my direct debit and he said i'd be blacklisted, i felt like crying when i walked out. What's the best thing to do? i still have 7 days left on the return thing. if i cancelled the DD what would i do with the phone and would i be in trouble. also the man said after 12 months i can downgrade to a cheaper one, but i don't know if that would be true or not.

this is all sorted now and I've even got a final bill for £12-which i've paid. what i want to do is now complain about how i was treated by the store staff -especially one of of the managers.

Can anyone help me word it and get my point across?

  • and heres a few extracts from a thread i posted about this

all they said yesterday was that cos it had been saved from the return i could no longer return it again as they were offering me extra money-so is this all rubbish? i'm gonna phone the Customer service today-if i can get through and see what they say.

I took it back today and still came back out with it, my dad insisted i left the phone there, but i didn't want to as i don't want to be billed £40 a month for something i haven't got. so i went back and got it. the bloke was still adament that i could not return it cos of the 2nd deal. anyway i later went back home and phoned customer service-which i know i should've done first off and they said it does not matter i am still within my 14 days right to return and cancel and they phoned the store for me and they said they would be no problem if i went back this time and the customer service person says that if there were any problems to phone them in store-which i will now do and get their back-up

Got it sorted-took time off work to get it sorted. i went back into the shop with my mom and felt so nervous, felt they were all staring at me and i asked to speak to a manager and this woman came over who had sorted out the 2nd deal for me, anyway the same old thing-it's a good deal etc bla bla bla came out her mouth and i was like i just want to return it and she phoned head office and they spoke to me and i said it was too much and i was worried cos i am only in a temporary job-even though i had said this from the start and they said they would cancel this contract and when i was in full-time employment to call them and get another one-as if . and she wrote VOID on my aggreement and date of return etc and i also went into the bank and cancelled the DD. I just hope that is the end of the matter. It's funny how i phoned Customer service and now it's suddenly not a problem to return a phone if i wish and this other male manager was no where to be seen today-funny that.
