Music Magpie

I have also fallen into the trap that is Music Magpie. Sent 91 items, for £78.90, and got a cheque for £58.99. They stated that the most expensive item I had, a xbox 360 collectors edition of Fallout 3, with figurine, was worth £15. However, it apparently had damaged artwork and was rejected. I assured them that, as a collectors edition, it had been treated as such, and was, in no way damaged. Sorry, "No refund" was the desultory reply. Given that 90 other items seemed fine at approximately 30 - 40p each, I find it amazing that the £15 mint condition item was rejected and "recycled" to use their words. As it was just before Christmas, I am sure it has been "recycled" in to someone elses Christmas present.
Got to say though, I should have known from the beginning as Magpies are known for their thieving abilities.
I was going to send CD's to them, but I wouldn't use them again and would advise all to avoid. They are not trustworthy.
PS Not a newbie, just forgot an old account I had.0 -
has anyone used zumu - just done a comparison to mm and so far they are coming out with much better prices0

I also had the same problem as Davidmcadam I sent various items and the most expensive also a xbox game lips plus the microphones also mint condition apart from a rip in the outerpackaging so rejected and I also would NEVER use them again. I did go on to twitter but got nowhere go to CEX or similar as you may get a bit less but you can see what you are getting and can take anything back the dont want and give to a charity shop. Magpies are jacks of all trades: scavengers, predators and cheeky thieves

Is it just me, or is someone pruning this thread of critical posts...?0

Oh no, I wish I had read this before I sent my items off this week.
Its only about 20 items totalling to about £12 but everything was in great condition. We will see...0 -
i sold a game to them and to be fair the price was ok but receiving payment took over a month which is ridiculous over companys take a few days these people take very long so not worth it0

Have used them once before without any issues I have to say, I chose the direct bank transfer and had payment within about a week.
I also sent about 20 items off, mostly recent things, got £15 for em all!0 -
I've used them - once and never again! Took absolutely ages to pay grrrr.0

I have used them twice. They pay very low prices and take forever to pay.
Can't moan too much as never sell cds as bootsales anymore as nobody seems to want them now.
I was just glad to declutter.
