I have enjoyed using MM. Some DVDs / CDs I got more than I thought and at the end of the day - a lot were sitting in the spare room collecting dust and I cant see me having a car boot or the like. It was free postage for a big box and got my cheque within 2 weeks. So while maybe not the best price achieved it was no mess no fuss.

Yeah im gonna go with them, i know i wont go to car boot sale for def, & im using fuel there & back, so im going to get all my c.d.'s out see what i get offered - its the less hassle that appeals to me also, And some c.d.'s i checked on ebay were starting at 99p so not much off a difference, & my collection in storage in cupboard - so gonna give MM a go......

When I was having a clear out, I compared prices of MM to what price they generally go for on ebay. A couple of the time MM was better, but not most of the time. I ended up using ebay in the end and most things sold :D

Is it just me or has Magpie slowed down a lot recently, so much that it takes 3-4 weeks after sending the parcel to getting the cheque?

(Also I've found out that some of the stuff you send to Magpie end up in "That's Entertainment" shops, and that 30p CD gets sold for £1.99+)
  • please don't be put off this is the most environmentally friendly company out there they use recycled cardboard for the packaging and resale the items to cut down on environmental waste as well as investing into local charities and projects. Learn to let the magpie fly.

It annoys me that they're not interested in CD singles either. Ebay it is for me.

95% of CD singles are completely worthless as being mass marketed produced at a time where people purchased CD Singles in their thousands, all that supply has forced the prices down to nothing.

It's like some albums, Magpie won't take (S Club, Steps, Spice Girls etc), just because they are worthless.

I have used Music Magpie once and got about £22 pounds for the minimum amount 10 items which comprised DVDs and CDs. These were items I was no longer going to use so I was happy to be rid of them. I then tried MM again and was only being offered 30p for CDs and DVDs which I thought was pathetic. I then tried webuydvd.com which only gave me a slightly better price. I'd rather sell my items at a car boot or E-bay at least if you get a collector they will pay more. Also, like other posters it's annoying they wont take CD singles.

I just used these for the 1st time, had loads of dvds and cds, not got the time to put on ebay so sent them off to mm and got £72.00 for the lot, not as much as they would have sold individually on ebay, but saved me time.

took about 20 days from their receipt to me getting the cheque.
