I think its as hot as you can (95?) and washing soda and white vinegar.[/QUOTE]
I've only got brown vinegar. Shall I use that or just use the crystals? I left brown vinegar down the loo once and it stained the limescale brown  not the result I was hoping for!Updating soon...0 -

chocolate cake made and cooling and looking good, new oven is baking things nicely:T
But- mr KenWood started smoking just as bread dough was nearly finished kneading, its the first time I have used this machine, its a freeby from somebody who hadn't used it for at least 3 years. Could it just be dust that is causing the smoke, nothing seemed to be hot and it stopped when I turned it off, or do you think it might need oiling? It did such a good job with the dough up to that point
anyway mess cleared up and kitchen looking OKSue
Do I need to eat it
Can I afford the calories:eek:
have I checked for a lower calorie version:T0 -
Feeling a bit anxious so have made an appointment to go and see the duty GP at 4.00. I don't know if you know but I had a stroke 11 years ago and am on Warfarin to keep me safe. On our first morning skiing I took 2 hard falls and really smacked the back of my head both times - as soon as we got to the bottom I told DH I wouldn't ski 1 step further unless I could hire a helmet (I'd already said at the start I wanted one but he thought I was being over cautious). The long and short of it is ever since then I have had a permanent headache and as it's now been over a week I'm going to get checked out just for peace of mind.
Everyone seems to be doing well and hi to the new flyladies on here!
Just going to do a herbal tea ... anyone want one?

An old notebook which still has blank pages
Does your handbag diary have ‘notes’ pages
A few sheets of scrap paper stapled together
Can I join please, need to keep track of my spending

Thanks everyone for the replies on the previous and this thread. It really helps to have other people let you know you're doing the right thing. I think I'll mention it when he drops off DD1 & 2 on Tuesday after M&D childmind them for the afternoon. My Mum usually stays at home and Dad drops off so it'll give me a chance to mention it while she's not there.
ETA - Valli - thanks for the link - will have a good read later.
Flyingwise - have done a bit off the list:
Cleared and wiped table
Wiped work surfaces
Floor swept
DD1 mopped up - its sopping wet but at least she did it.
DD1 and I have had a lovely day together - unusually DD2 was back in nursery today and DD1 had an inset day. So we've been baking as part of her cook badge for Brownies. We've made chocolate fairy cakes with chocolate icing and flapjacks with sultanas in - or rather she's made them, I've mainly supervised.
She's also made a start on her advanced cook badge as one of the tasks is to use the DW.:j so she put everything in an turned it on. One of the other tasks is to clean the fridge - I can see this badge being a good one!!!!
ScarlettsMum - DD1 was the same when she was that age. I decided to 'train' her into putting her down by putting her down and playing/talking to her for about 10 secs or so - making sure you cuddle her before she starts to get upset, then up it to 20 secs or so, then increase it until you can sit on the sofa where she can still see you and build it up that way. I soon found I could let her have a good kick under the baby gym and tire herself out while I folded washing or made a quick coffee. But do enjoy it while it lasts - it just goes so quickly and when they get bigger you just want to do it all over again (minus the sleepless nights of course!!!)
Mumof2 - hopefully its nothing serious but given your history it definately needs checking out.
Off to get DD2 in 10 mins. See you later.0 -
