  • You do seem to be taking a few knocks at the moment Bonnington :(. I agree with DFW that you should hang in there with the gas for a couple of months until you can show that your consumption has gone down.

I hope the car doesn't turn out to be too expensive. I hate paying out for repairs on cars, they (cars) can be such a necessary evil sometimes.

I understand your frustrations about your debt figure going up, but at least by having kept a tight rein on your figures for the last couple of months you've limited the damage. Things could've been worse if you were still pre-LBM...although then you'd still be in comfortable denial - I miss that feeling, but there's no way back now :p.

Best wishes for you wife, I hope she makes a speedy recovery.

  • evening bonnington I hope tomorrow is a better day for you!

Regarding university trips, does your daughter not have friends who are making visits to the same ones? If so could you not car share and then petrol share too ?? Perhaps when your daughter is at uni, you could explain to her that if she would like to take the opportunity in the third year she will have to contribute to it by getting either summer/christmas jobs or part time work around uni? Does your daughter want to commute to uni each day or would she rather stay on campus? I believe there are grants for students, i used to get one myself and it was plenty to live on

You say you already have an ebay business, what sort of thing do you sell? Would you have a market to sell it elsewhere? I mainly sell my things on facebook now. Free to sell, not fees and i think i get a fairer price than fleabay! :D

I remember living out in the sticks when we were growing up and i got a job (waitressing) by going round all the restaurants/pubs etc and asking the bosses lol, i was only 14 at the time, i suppose you wouldn't be able to do that at all now, but i got a job and was a 3 mile bike ride and it was the best job ever! Cash in hand, drunken people (usually hunting groups at this pub) all too 'merry' happily giving me £10 tips :D and back when i was 14 that was LOADSA money! I made £300 in one day on one of those days :rotfl:my mother wasn't pleased though as it was boxing day and i had begged to go into work instead of staying at home :p

  • I had to plaster a bedroom wall once as i refused to pay the plasterer £250! (not quite sure how i got into SO much debt as i've always been tight and looked for a bargain :rotfl:) So i went and got the plaster and did it myself. Ok wasn't brilliant but there were shelves going on that wall anyway and it cost me less than a tenner :p (was 10 yrs ago) it's amazing what we can achieve when we put our minds to it ;)

I hope you got your lay in :D

  • Hope you have had a good day today bonnington.

I love wedding dresses and wedding stuff in general, I would love to open either a wedding shop or baby shop. I make alot of crystal tiaras/facinators, a wedding shop was interested in buying them from me last year but I couldn't bulk make in the time frames they wanted and they wanted them identical grrrrr.
