My ds has a perfect credit rating but is self employed, applied for 2 cards and was turned down (he wanted to do a bt to a 0%) his bank gave him one in the end.I could get on my high horse and rant about banks:mad: but dont want to bore you.Luckily i dont and have never had a credit card so i dont have those debts to worry about its easy enough to rack them up with loans and hp.MAKE £2022 in 2022 no 29 £2022/£434.10

Hi Bonnington
That's a shame about the card. It's put me off applying as I think I'd probably get the same answer. I think it's worth trying every six months or so; in that time your debt will have decreased and your credit rating should improve with regular (over)payments (I think!).
I might ask OH to apply as most of our debt is in my name , so he'd have a better chance of being accepted at this stage. I'll let you know how it goes.
Glad you got your phone back though, that's good news.

I remember having a coal fire when i was younger, It was great would warm the whole house up if we had it on all day. My mum & dad were tight though and made us three kids go looking for wood in the summer/autumn lol and we'd dry it out in the shed and they'd only use a bit of coal to get it going ...I'd love a real fire here!
Regarding banks, i used to have 4one joint with dh and an overdraft of 2,500 (always at the end of it), one that i'd had since i was 16 and had 4,500 overdraft (always near the end too
) another student one, 250 overdraft and then a fourth with a £150 o/d
:o Not hard to see how i got into debt really, huh. I paid off the smallest overdraft and cancelled the facility and transferred all pay, ctc, child benefit to that one and the d.d's etc and i'm very glad to say i don't really miss the o/d at all!!! Do you bank in a different bank to your debt? I've seen a few good deals about for new accounts if you pay so much in every month, but i'm quite happy with mine (at last lol) I also have online banking and 6 seperate savings accounts that i can access and pay into / transfer out of online so it's quite handy having it all in one place at last. Goodness knows why I never thought to do this before

Hi Bonnington
Sorry to hear about the delay to the overtime and the payrise, it's so annoying and frustrating . I think companies forget sometimes that it's our money not theirs and they have no right to delay payment .
Sounds like good news for your DD though. Extra shifts = extra money. My DD gets her first pay this week after a month in her first job. It'll take the pressure off us for all the little extras she needs (aka wants) over and above her pocket money. She's even planning to change hairdressers, so that will save me on hair cuts.

Hi bonnington
Are the tesco vouchers the club card ones as they have a big exchange coming soon. We have only had a club card for 2 months but my DH (dear husband) puts all his work petrol on it so have £18 already I dont know if the big exchange is worth it or what it is all about lol
Good news on the tax code and payrise its just a shame you have to wait for it.

 well done on the NSD
I've about £12 i think in tesco vouchers due, the last lot I got 2 magazine subscriptions, one for national geographic for dh and one for the simpsons for ds1 for xmas :T I've never done th clubcard exchange thing though how does that work happy? I used to just spend them in store as they came through, so even though i've had a clubcard for years and years i've no idea how all these schemes work:o!

I find the only way to track my spends is to write them down either in my sig on here or in a daily spend diary. I'm very slack with keeping up with the paper version though so tend just to put it on here.
I'd complaint to amazon as well they are usually pretty good with delivery (in my experience) perhaps they will give you a refund on p&p
