I've been sacked by GapBuster this morning for no reason at all.
"Following best business practice, our clients require us to continually provide a broad range of shoppers to complete their evaluations; therefore, we periodically review our shopper database. This is a great way to ensure GAPbuster consistently delivers quality results to our clients.
As a result of this practice we often remove shoppers from our system, and in this instance, you will not be required to complete any further assignments for GAPbuster. Any jobs assigned to you which have not yet been submitted have been cancelled from your account - please do not complete the assignment(s)."
I have been with them for about 2 years now and never had a problem with them so who knows why they do these.
Gapbuster fired me today too for no reason. I got the same email exactly. I don't know what I did to upset them.
I shopped for two years and one of their telephone staff said that I was a reliable shopper just a month ago!
Well - I am gonna start to diet now safe in the knowledge I never have to eat another fried chicken or burger.0 -
I am going to miss the burger staff sucking up to me and offering me a balloon, wet wipe, holding the doors open and carrying my tray. LOL - the other customers must have thought I was royalty as they get treated like fast food customers normally do!
If I was a scottish american burger company, I would want to look at how useful mystery shopping is at actually improving service!
Im not bitter - i hope Gap goes Bust0 -

Lets hope that Gap don't go bust until they have paid us sacked ones!
Only ones I will miss are the post offices. No Matter what you do there will be critics.0 -
Part of me wishes Gap would fire me!
Am meant to be on a diet, but they are such easy jobs that when they phone me begging, if it's somewhere I am going to be anyway then I really don't mind and always end up saying Yes. I need to keep reminding myself though that I am spending lots more at the supermarket on shopping on fresh fruit and veg to try and loose weight, so even 3 times the fee from Gap still shouldn't be worth it as it will just cancel out my good work and mean that the money spend on eating well is wasted, so it doesn't really help me to make money!
Hopefully I am safe for now, as both me and my other half do Gap jobs here, and between us usually end up doing almost all of them! So our area obviously isn't too saturated with Gappers at the minute!Half of November Make £10 a Day Challenge: £51/ £1700 -
Why would they sack their more experienced shoppers, rather than the newer ones?0
-
There doesn't seem to be any rhyme nor reason to it really.
It is something they are fairly notorious for though unfortunately. Doesn't seem to make much sense really, as I can't really see a downside to having more than enough shoppers in an area - just means there is more likely to be someone to do all the jobs, which saves them adding on their infamous 'Premiums'!!!Half of November Make £10 a Day Challenge: £51/ £1700 -
There is the argument that the more experienced we get the more jaded and hard to please we become? I'm not sure how gap pitch their services but since their major competitor seems to be RE with their "genuine customer" approach perhaps they just feel the need to keep their database "fresh".
Or the cynical side of me is probably more likely to think new shoppers are more likely to feel their standard fees are reasonable and that they are less likely to point out the negative points of their experience?
Who knows, to be perfectly honest I won't miss them, my waistline will thank me. The only jobs I'll miss will be pizza, post and the petrol audits. Plenty more fish in the sea0 -
I'll be honest that there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the gap sacking. I've been with them just under 2 years and I only take jobs when they ring me and offer me more money. I don't ask for too much, so that might be it, but I'd expect that I'm not really the type of shopper they would want to keep! I live in a city and don't travel far for jobs, and there are loads of shoppers in the area.0

That happened to me!
It was Tom who usually rang me and begged me to do last minute jobs. A few weeks before I got sacked, I took on a last minute job for him that he was really struggling with, and he thanked me for being dependable and reliable and said he wished all shoppers were like me.
Then I got sacked?!I am going to miss the burger staff sucking up to me and offering me a balloon, wet wipe, holding the doors open and carrying my tray. LOL - the other customers must have thought I was royalty as they get treated like fast food customers normally do!
You can still have that if you follow the scenario and ask for a receipt
I took my boys for a burger not so long ago and did the receipt thing. My eldest is 14 and very manly looking and he wasn't impressed when they came over and asked if he wanted a balloon :rotfl:Here I go again on my own....0
