No.1 Accident Claims Ltd - any comments?

I am heartily fed up with this company. I'm getting up to 8 calls a day from them. Number is always witheld. Usually I just let the answer machine click in and they listen a while then hang up without leaving a message. Last couple of days I picked up and they waffled on about an accident . I informed them that I hadn't had an accident and they hang up, only to call again a couple of hours later.I got annoyed with one chap and told him he was a liar since he was calling about "your accident" when I hadn't had an accident, and as far as I was concerned, if he was a liar, the chances are he's also a con merchant and thief too. Then I put the phone down. Last night got another call from them and pretended to be my mother, said the person they wanted was out with the dogs and I'd take a message. They refused to leave a name or phone number. Today another call and again pretended to be my mother and this time, the person actually left a number to call them back on. I went out for a couple of hours this afternoon and hey presto, another 4 missed calls on the answer machine all from witheld number. All this despite me being on the TPS. Surely something in law can be done about companies like this? I'm about to go to my phone provider and ask them to put a stop on all witheld number calls. Surely by now this bloody company would understand that not only have I not had an accident, but don't want them to keep ringing me.0

I've also been called loads of times from these people. If I ask them where they've got my number from, they hang up. If I begin to tell them to remove my details, they hang up. They keep calling. I would like to know at what point this becomes harrassment and therefore a criminal offence?
What I feel like doing is answering, pretending that I'm really interested.. so much so that I get the person's full name and telephone number ("you know.. just in case we get cut off...") then when I've got their details I'll say "Right. Now you can't hang up because I can report you personally, tell me how you've got my details, from what company, and how I can make a complaint to management".
Just wondering if that's a tactic anyone else might use.
These people are intrusive, rude, and harrassing every day people.. And if I don't manage to stop them by other means, i'll eventually start thinking about contacting the police.
And lozxx04, you blatantly work for them. 1 post?! Come on now..0 -
I've been called by these people for months. Sometimes I answer and question how they've found my details and they hang up.
Sometimes they phone from a witheld number and sometimes they phone from 0161 238 8666. When you phone this number it says offices are closed and to call back between 11.30 and 5. (I called at mid day!!)
I feel like answering and yelling **** off but I doubt it would make any difference.
I wonder if it's worth pretending you're interested so they give you their name and ext. then saying "right now i've got your name you can't hang up... remove my details or i'm making a complaint".
What I want to know is, at what point does this become harrassment and therefore a criminal offence? If these stupid monkeys aren't breaking the law already?!0 -
My wife drove into another car nearly 9 months ago.. just a slight tap, it was parked, no injury, no other people involved..
Currently I am getting daily calls from these people.
I work at home, my wife is out...
They wont talk to me, and i keep telling them she is not interested.
She has spoken to them a couple of times, and telling them she is not interested..
Just leave us alone.0 -
These guys are unbelievable.
They call for days and days, you tell them to remove your name and they keep calling back.
Yesterday I spent 20 minutes on to a 'manager' who eventually gave me an incorrect company registration number (they are actually 07177578) and said our number would be removed. Surprise surprise I was called again - so i asked to speak to another manager who said it would be removed from 'everyone's diaries'.
I called then 0161 200 1120 number and eventually (after three calls) got through to 'Martin O'Malley' who apologised yet again said their website was 'down for the past six weeks' and couldn't understand why I had been called. He said he was with the dialer manager and would make sure numbers were removed.
These guys are registered with the MoJ (ref CRM23375) and they are in breach the Claims Management Regulations for Marketing :
justice.gov.uk/downloads/global/business/claims-management-regulation/conduct-of-business/CMR-Marketing-Guidance-Oct-2010.pdf
- in breach of CSR Rule 4 in calling TPS registered numbers, as well as in breach of examples no 4,9,10,11 and 12, which includes being in breach of the European Electronic Commerce Directives (web site), and the Companies act (Mr O'Malley couldn't give me the company registration number and stated that it was not on their headed notepaper).
He stated that they were 'not criminals since they work along side 7 solicitors and have 75 staff' and gave me a mobile number to call if there were more problems 07928 863506 - having checked the MoJ I tried to call him to let him know there was an official complaint - no reply!
Please join me in complaining...

I've been harassed the last few months by this company too. Saying they are calling on behalf of directline (my insurers) even thou i rang them after being left upset by this company constantly calling me. They reassured me they hadn't and wouldn't pass on my details and that even with my consent they only use 3 companies and no1 accident claims isn't 1 of them. Last time this company called me a few weeks ago they said cornhill direct allianz (the guy who hit my car last yr's insurers) had given them my details.
I don't know who to trust anymore. Is there any1 who can investigate these companies? Otherwise i feel helpless and a few have already said ill be getting these calls for yrs to come!

I spoke to a claims handler by the name of Craig Fletcher around two months ago and although initially I was dubious of 'cold calls' from unknown numbers I decided to recieve the paperwork as I was told that I didn't need to commit to anything over the phone that everything would be sent out to confirm waht we had spoken about over the phone and then when I was happy I just needed to sign the paperwork to get the claim up and running. I decided that the insurance companies keep bumping up my premiums every year anyway, after all as a law abiding citizen I can't exactly choose not to have insurance so I decided I might aswell get some money back from the !!!!!!!s! Anyways to cut a long story short as Craig told me everything happened as planned and the money has just been paid out, actually got more than was promised (£1500 promised) I actually recieved £2300 and all in all it took exactly 31 working days when I look back at my calendar again as promised. So in my humble opinion the company delivered on every promise!
One satisfied customer,
Frank Fielding

How surprising a newbie poster praising a load of ambulance chasers, now why does it taste suspiciously like :spam:0

Hi. I worke for a personal injury claim solicitor and would advice to not go anywhere near such a company. Most solicitors will handle such claims and if you have legal expenses insurance on your policy will not pay any fees. These personal injury firms are usually not solicitors and charge excessive amounts of money. If you think you have a case I can happily pass on he name of a couple of solicitors to you in the Lincolnshire area if that helps.0
