No.1 Accident Claims Ltd - any comments?

  • I have received several calls this week and last from this same company offering money that has been 'put aside' for me from an accident that happened almost a year ago.

After explaining to the first chap I was not interested in any compensation as no one was hurt and I wasn't left out of pocket, I continued to receive these calls to the point where tonight the caller became rather abusive towards me down the phone, asking me if I was rich, and did I not want to have a nice Christmas, before using the rather interesting insult of 'bumcheek'!!

Is there no way I can report this company to anyone?! I've had a look at their website (search 'number one accident', it's the first link) and noted that apparently they're 'regulated by the Ministry of Justice' and have e-mailed them this evening but don't think that'll achieve all that much.

    Any ideas?

I have been approached by this company saying they can help me with my accident claim - has anyone dealt with them before? any comments anyone please?

Was recently approached by said company and experienced all the pleasantaries as other MSE members. Pot of money for me to claim. Won't cost you a penny. Acting on your insurance companies wishes etc etc.

Have spoken to my insurance company and they said 'Not them again. Don't know where there getting their info from'
Stated that info had not been passed by my insurance company and to be aware of their tactics and subsequent nasty phone calls.

I am now on my guard to see what they plan to do next. Will report anything back to my insurance company.
By the way, they withhold their tel no when they ring and any website listed is 'under construction'.

Your insurance Company will not tell you the truth about selling your information, not one Company out there will be open and honest about the underhand tactics that the majority of them use in order to gain more money.

Selling personal data is big business and if it is through the back door of a Company then so be it you would be surprised at what Company's get up to and how many lose discs and spread sheets full of personal information on a regualr basis.

Three calls from them in two days. They don't seem to be able to get the message that I don't want to hear from them.

I just had a call out of the blue from them but they hung up mid sentence. I've not had any accidents but I did recently renew my home insurance online. They asked for me by name so obviously someone in the insurance industry is passing on contact details. Their website says 'Under Construction' and according to http://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/ltd/no1-accident-claims they've been a company for 1yr and have capital of £1,000.00. Wouldn't touch them with a bargepole, look like scam artists to me.

They just rang again saying I'd had an 'incident' in the last 3 yrs which I haven't and told him so. When asked where he got my details he stated quite happily it was from an online quote and I must have 'forgotten' to untick a box, which again is untrue. He said they would amend my details and not bother me again, we shall see.
