My milk has run out too and I don't have any powered stuff! Probably will have to slink out and buy some, but in the meantime I made pancakes ... was a bit hesitant without milk so put in water but used two eggs instead of one ... best pancakes ever! So fluffy and light. Mmm ..."Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without!!"Nov NSD: ?/30 Nov Make 10 Day ?/300Get Rid Of Debt: ?/2000 !! :mad:0 -

Morning peeps
another NSD planned here today, i`ve just emptied the slowcooker which had a curry in overnight. No pancakes for me today - they don`t reheat in the microwave at w*rk very well so i shall be having the curry
Angel - I really hope that everything goes well for you both, i shall be keeping you both in my thoughts ((((HUGS))))
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
I dont think I'm being too bad so far, especially as this is my first GC, but I know I could do better. Will be interesting to see how much Ive spent at the end of the month, that way I can see where I need to improve. I walk past Sbucks everyday on the way to work and I've walked past it everytime. Its feels good knowing that daily £2.45 is staying my pocket and not in theirs!
Planning meals has really improved my cooking skills too, so its a win win for me and the OH. We had lamb chops last night which didnt cost us a thing because OH's parents gave us almost a whole lamb from their small holding. Free, organic and yummy! I just wished they kept pigs, I love my bacon...and sausages...and ham...hehe
Hope everyone is ok, xxLBM Sept 2014

even though i am trying to stick to a budget so i can save money i went to the butchers this morning (my last meat pack from the butchers was 2 and half weeks ago, have few bits left so would say it lasted 3 weeks)
went with my list and came out with
5lb lean mince
10 chicken breasts
2 x 4lb chickens
1 x joint cut of a leg of lamb
and 8 sausages
this little lot cost me £47
is that good or bad

NSD today & I have made 3 veggi lasagne, 1 for us today & stretch it tomorrow with some jacket potatoes & the other 2 for the freezer.
Doing the GC has really got me into batch baking & it is lovely to have a freezer full of home made meals for the evenings when you know there is not much time. DD1 & DD2 have really got into helping make scones, cookies, biscuits & rolls & think it is great to have such a choice of lunch box goodies in the freezer. Meal planning has been going well & meals are certainly more inventive & less monotonous.
Thanks you to everyone that posts here, I get lots of inspiration. I am determined to stick to my grocery budget & this in turn will leave us more money for mortgage overpaymentsDeclutter 2023 110/520

Angel, Best of luck for Thursday - thinking of you.:grouphug:
A few little spends today totalling £9.26. M & S tinned chicken in white sauce is half price again. Good for savoury pancakes. Had to buy plain flour and milk from local co op for pancakes tonight. Milk was £1.65 for 4 pints!!!! Going to stock up at L*dl next time, only £1.
Enjoy the sunshine:)
