These price checks @ te$cos & @sd@ are so funny, so now if an item is the same price or more at @sda i shop there and take advantage of their 10% less guarantee and if its more expensive at tescos i buy it at te$cos and take advantage of the double the difference back. Really strange, i spent £37.61 @ asd@ today £12.57 of it was non grocery items for family members sons birthday today. What i will do is wait for the price check to come in to see how much it will take off, i will deduct it from my grocery bill and then use my voucher instead of cash for next months grocery shop. Have a voucher for 20p from te$cos price guarantee not much but every little helps. Never knew money saving could be this rewarding so am planning to take advantage of @rgos's buy a dyson and get £50 giftcard offer (which will take DS's tv down to £90) , i really need one my hoover is so carp that i have to hoover with the nozzle no extension or head because it cant suck anything, and i hoover at least 3 times a day (bit OCD, I know) at least half n hour each time so all this saving is really benefiting me, i feel so much happier to be on top of things, so thanks everyone for inspiring me with your posts.xxSPC Member#1096 Target £150 Feb Count £82.18

Thanks to everyone for all your good wishes and your prayers-we really do need them!
Im working tomorrow so it will keep my mind off things. On positive notes Ive been browsing the shops for new seeds to plant but cannot find what I want. Last year we got spinach beet which grew very well and cooks quickly-cant find it now. Also want "shirley" tomatoes and I cant find them! And the list goes on. Looked in lidl and Mr M to no avail as well as some other shops.
Cooked the salmon pasta again tonight and it was oh so yummy yet again. I cannot believe how cheap and delicious this is! Thawed out some apple curd to go on toast for breakfast-we just had porrige this morning. Why are the simplest things in life usually the best?
I bought some lovely Orkney Cheddar in Mr T the other day-Ive never seen it before anywhere-its strong and does have a unique taste-its very nice and you don't need a lot of it in any dish.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
Angel - My thoughts are with you hun. Best wishes to you both for thursday xx
Spent very little this week as fully stocked apart from veg and fruit. Shopped at Lidl. Impressed with their fruit and veg!! I really like Pink Lady apples and find them very expensive in most places. £1.99 for 6 and they are huge and taste fab! Spent £17-79 all together and had two huge bags of fruit and veg. Milk and 2 packs of rolls as well as a roll of tin foil and some quavers for packed lunches! Will def be shopping there more often!

Hi Angel, all the very best wishes for Thursday my thoughts are with you and your OH.
I had a similar thing in wanting a particular tomato seed to grow and not seeing it in the usual shops/seed catalogues so I did a google search. I got the seeds I wanted (sunbaby) and practically all the others I needed from a small nursery in Kent for far less than I would have paid the established well known seed companies. Hope that helps.
Do take care,

Thanks for running the thread everyone:T
Its my first post for March and and after adding up my spends it totals £139.12!! so far so I have only £0.88 left until22nd March!I should have known I couldn't have kept in total with it being half term and being on holiday so realistically not too bad.
In the past before MSE we would have booked a 'cheap last minute bargain':eek:the CC for half term and goodness knows how much that would have cost, I dread to think!.
So this year we have booked a weeks holiday at Easter with the family costing 355.00 (our share) paid with Ebay sales, and booked a week in August using our own caravan paid with Tesco deals for £240.00 so only spends to find hopefully funded with Carboot, family allowance and Ebay sales.
I have set my self a further challange of £20.00 to add to my grocery challange to keep myself in line in till 22nd March, as somethimes I used to think What the Heck and not bother if I failed in the past (I bit like dieting really) so I am trying to re-educate myself:rotfl:.Anyone elso do the same?. Good luck everyone for this month. savvy x:TM&S 2,200.00

Pancakes were a great success. Boys did all the work and just chilled out. They were very tasty. We should have them more often.
