Thanks Rosieben!!
Roger I find that if I do mash I need many more potatoes than if I just boil them in order to feel satisfy with the portion. The way I feel they give me the most is when I cut them really small, almost dice-size, and fry them or roast them. Add a bit of garlic salt and rosemary if you have any around, a bit is enough, with either oil or butter and you are done for tasty potatoes.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

Popped into Lidl for cheapie things today, sold out of a few things on my list mince 500g for £1.19 one of them! Never mind. I did buy some bananas though, does anywhere sell them less than 77p a kg? I think Mr A, Mr T and Mr S are all dearer??
Spent another £5.82 and think i'll definately be over half way of my budget by the end of the week
Off to update sig.:j Mortgage Free!! )Generally trying to cut back where possible :j0 -

Sounds yum - may do that. But there aren't many spuds left! However, I have found some potato waffles and some potatoes as part of a veg combo in the freezer - so I can still get my fix temporarily!! There is also quite a bit of rice and pasta in the house, so that is the fall-back. I am considering extending this challenge on myself for lent. Furthermore, every time I think I want something, I try to think about those in this world who don't have a supermarket on their doorstep (or at all) and have to worry about putting food on the table in the first place. Make me realise just how lucky we are...Mortgage Free Wannabe

Well not doing too badly. One disasterous trip to local deli, but the Mr T shop yesterday was free - DH's employers Xmas present so I'm not counting that. HM pizza tonight. Topping not great - passata very sour. But dough from BM was great, so just need to find a tomato topping. Going to try that SC Oxtail on Thurs. We had fajitas with DR stir fry strips last night - out of this world. Good meat makes such a difference.GC Mar 13 £47.36/£1500

NSD managed today. Now at 6/8 nsds for the month so far. Was sorely tempted by asd@ today, but used the mantra "I don't need it, and where the **** would I put it anyway!!" It helped!
Didn't fancy what was left over from yesterday for dinner today - I REALLY wanted a chippy tea, but again managed to stay at home - ate the stuff I didn't want anyway. Didn't enjoy it that much, won't make it again!
Off to curl up in bed with a book now - otherwise I shall be eating anything I can get my hands on - it's that time of the month! Night all,

I know exactly what you mean. Which, in my case being late, means eating extra for several days or sometimes weeks at a time:eek:0
