Firstly I just want to say that my thoughts are with you Angel and OH, I can't imagine what you are going through... :grouphug:

I'm really here to confess though... I ordered te$co home del as my previous post on here, but I had to add to the order as ran out of baking supplies and a few other things so need to rejig the cost :o

SO here goes: Mr T's final cost £31.25 (£72.74, £12.99 savings and used £28.50 vouchers)

Organic Veg box £15.75 (not to be charged til 1st April but will include in this months budget)

Dog food £58.96  should last a couple of months but I do have 2 of my own and usually 1 foster dog :)

Another organic Veg box this week (we eat loads!) £18.74

Other than squash and other bits and bobs should get through a couple of weeks :D :T will update signature
  • Day 8 - still zero spends. The powdered milk is ok! Potatoes are running out fast. Oh my!

Angel, I hope that the news is positive for you and your husband tomorrow. I will keep you in my thoughts.

I only need to buy milk today for pancakes. I am making the batter and the boys are making them. Just about to have my chicken curry for lunch. I am baking an apple loaf this afternoon.

i read on here that someone made a jug of powdered milk up and chilled it they said it tasted like skimed milk, you could make up a small amount and if it's nasty just use it for tea/coffee

Angel - thinking of you and hope all goes well on Thursday xx
  • Just updating the sig again. A couple mini shops at MrT for milk, fruit, and cereal, etc... but pleased to say that I stuck to the list... NO little extras. Needed to go for a few things this morning and only had £15 on me... cash machine was out of order as normally I take 'extra' in 'just in case'... but pleased to say that I got everything on the list and nothing else which came to a total of £13.49! :j Sooooo pleased! This challenge is wonderful... I've really been taking some extra time on meal planning, an thinking through what I actually need on the list!
  • Angel - thinking of you and you family, hope it all goes the best it can.

Thank you Rosie that's going to be such a help when looking through the recipe index :A but what are you doing re-organising the recipe lists at 4am woman?! :rotfl:

Walked all the way to £idls to get my Raspberry fruit bush and Maple Syrup which is on offer - and they'd sold out of both!
But!, it's a glorious day here, so I made a flask of tea before I left, popped a couple of bits of fruit in my backpack and walked to the cliff tops after my fruitless (pun fully intended :D ) trip to £idls, and ate my fruit and sipped my tea while looking out to sea :T

I feel like it's done me the world of good - and I needed it, as DD is having a very rough week again :(

Anyways - bought some Milk & Savoury Rice when passing Te$cos, so spends today of £2.54

Angel - am thinking of you and your husband and hope that Thursday gives you good news. You will both me in my prayers.

Rosieben - Thank you for all your hard work on the recipe index.

On Sunday there were 2 cooked potatoes left, a few carrots and 4 sprouts so today have diced them up mixed with the chicken that was stripped off the carcass and added a small amount of gravy and a pastry top - lunch for myself and DH one day and all (except pastry) from what I would have previously thrown in to the bin. :money:

NSD here today but am running short on butter however hope that can last until thursday when do the shopping.
