Every time I try to diet I can't get food off my brain!
Your approach seems very logical and is how I work my life now. I think I need to get more active - housework would be a very good place to start as it is not my forte iykwim :), Silver x

Lame Wolf...the E111 has been replaced by a card which means that you don't have to apply for it every time you go to another country....I presume that it is available in UK, can't see us getting so ahead of ourselves here to think it up all on our own!

Yep, it's the card we've applied for - never had an E111 before, despite having been to Belgium 3 times in the past, but we felt this time we ought to have the relevant paperwork/plastic, as my health is so very precarious now.;)

Loulou so very sorry for your loss. (((HUG)))

Well done to those losing weight,:j think I need to up my game! weight loss has come to an abrupt end.

I second both of these statements! I'm trying to lose weight but the last few weeks I've had too much temptation around me :( plus due to the vertigo I haven't been able to exercise. I'm feeling a lot better now so will attempt the gym on the weekend if I'm feeling ok.
Work was good today, I am feeling smiley.:):):):):):):):):):):):)

JackieG - good to hear that!

:j:j:jso proud of my work kids, we did a fundraising bag pack today at supermarket, and in 3 hours they raised a massive £450 :j:j:j and they were all so well behaved :D Tomorrow we are having a fun day and are off to the seaside!

I'm knackered now though, it's hard work packing bags and keeping an eye on 12 people!

My Blackberry is playing up :( the battery keeps running down within a few hours , only started this week. I've just rung Orange, who were fab and are sending a new battery by courier for free on Sat, I could have had it tomorrow but I am not here to sign for it and swap the battery over. Good service :A

OS wise - DW will go on later, need to decide what to have for tea - not very inspired at moment.

    Have a good evening all

  • Evening all,

Just popped on to say hi. I've had the week from hell, on a dangerous ward with no support.

I'm going to speak to my mananger on Monday hopefully and will be demanding that I move to another ward in the hospital quickly as I'm under so much pressure I'll make a big mistake soon and I'm not prepared for that. Just to give an idea - MOnday was my first day on the ward, not counted in numbers on a 9-5. By 10.30 I was counted in the numbers and was the only qualified nurse left. I had to escort a patient I didn't know to A & E and was there until 9pm that night.

Tuesday, I ended up as the only qualified nurse again, and had 4 restraints, 3 fights and 2 suicide attempts, one with a weapon. The other nurses were in a meeting somewhere else. I was expected to do meds on my own and be the nurse in charge.

This isn't meant to happen as I only got my PIN in January of this year, and I'm meant to be shadowed for at least 4 months to make sure I'm safe

Anyway, I have days off now, and then 2 weeks of not being on my own on the ward. If they won't move me within those 2 weeks, I won't be goig back on.

Also, an update on the OH's best friend. I told him about the 'second husband' comment my friend had made, and his reply was 'as if I could ever have any influence on your realationship with M'. So it seems he knows where I stand.

Anyway, am off out to collect the dogs from a friend and have a take away - not OS, but I feel I've earned it.

    Take care all.

    T xx
  • welcome to the world of qualified nursing:o.....you will probably find thats how it is....you are never as supported as you are told you will be...it is a big shock after having your hand held so much as a student:eek::o
I qualified 20 years ago and still remember my first shift on a late as the only qualified with 2 support workers on a ward i had never been on before....GU surgery, had no idea what i was doing, catheter bags and irrigation bags all over. Unfortunately it is par for the course in healthcare
