Hi, this is the Daily Thread for thurs 24th Feb. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the
Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

  • Morning :hello:

Well today is another day... albeit a very good day ... I've now lost 12.5lbs in the last 10 days!!! :j

I am really pleased when you consider that I wasn't trying to loose weight, but just changed my diet to help my PCOS!

I've lost 6 stone 3.5lbs in total now

Anyway, today I have work! Just been told my last day is 1st April, so 5 weeks to go and i'll be unemployed again... but with the Easter Break and the 3 day week at the end of April... looks like I am having a month off work :D

Dinner tonight is Spicy Tomatoes with Vegetarian Sausages in a Pitta with Salad.... something nice and quick... as tonight is food shopping night!

DS8 called last night... he said 'I love you' 1001 times... I think he's missing me as much as I am him!

Hope you all have a wonderful day x

  • Good morning Halight, JulieG and all to follow,
Grey, damp but warmish here today.
WM will be going on in a minute. Will hang stuff out and be optimistic:)

Dinner today is bean goulash with jacket potatoes.

Need to do some more planning for the next half term.

I think the most exciting part of my day will be making the bean goulash, although I will enjoy pegging out the washing:)

Happy Thursday all, hugs for those that need or want, Silver x

It's not raining here today so far, it's the 1st day this week that has been dry.
Hubby is hoping to finish at lunch time today as he is owed some time & I'm driving over to collect him, I shall have a mooch round the shops as I have some gift vouchers to use up. I need to do some houswork before I go including mopping the floors. I've been offered some paid for sewing that I need to price up too.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning all

Wet, grey and chilly here this morning. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock. DS2 now downstairs watching tv, he's eaten his brekkie and enjoyed a cuppa. DS1 is still snoring in his pit - will leave him for a while, but we have dentists this morning so he will have to get up in a bit.

Once we've been to the dentist will just come home as need to be in for the washing machine engineer, grrr washing machine is less than a week old, paid for connection and it wasn't connected properly and flooded my cupboard under the sink where the inlet and waste pipes go, so they can come back and connect it properly! Having cleared what washing I did have once new machine was installed, then realised that it was leaking so haven't been able to keep on top of the washing, so now have another pile just as big! Wanted to try to get ahead! Just hope this engineer does a proper job. I've never had this issue before with leaks so just need it sorting.

Dinner last night was pork chops, mash, veg and gravy, was lovely comfort food as it's so cold, wet and grey here at the moment. Think we may have fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg tonight - want something quick and easy as engineer time slot is 12-6pm so thought a "bung in the oven" type meal was going to be easiest in case he's late.

Will be doing some ironing (mum did a wash for me yesterday), then really need to do a quick tidy round, menu plan and shopping list for tomorrow also want to get some baking/cooking done at some point. Will be heading to the scales, want to see how I'm doing, have been really good except Sat night, so would like to think I've managed to stay the same or a loss, but not sure which way it will go at the moment.

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

    Morning All,

Up early and everything done on time today, so I am resting with a cuppa before the boys get up. Just the pack ups to do, but they get done last minute to minimise time out of the fridge - I know I could make them and keep them in the fridge but I can't be bothered right now! :rotfl: Washing done, dryer on, dog fed, I could do with washing the floors but I'll wait and see how I feel in half an hour :o

Hugs for Loulou this morning, who got some bad news last night. I hope you got some sleep love and are OK. xxx

Redruby, I hope things are coming along with you parents' situation and you are being looked after too. xx

Well done on the weight loss JulieG. that's fab! x

JackieO you sound like you're having a better half term than the children.

Hugs hi fives and spoons all round, hope you all have a productive day.

    Jackie XXX

Down with a virus thanks to a recent visitor to the house, so am on the couch for the duration. Got HM soup in the freezer though, with chillis in it :D
And OH and daughter are looking after me so I feel nicely pampered. :)
Lashing rain and high winds here today, so will keep my hens indoors as they hate this weather and only huddle around their hutch door when it`s like this.
Hope everyone has a good day today. :)
