ive got the statements for the past 6 yrs, i was hoping to see loads of charges but it looks like ive been a bit to sensible & increased my overdraft limit when trouble is near! ive added up an approx £300 in 3 years worth, getting real cross as ive always felt that the overdraft charges were part of my monthly outgoings .. can i claim for increasing my overdraft limit (£15 each time), or tempory overdraft limits?, there has been a few months that the bank have refunded my charges (phone calls & crying), would they be checking every amount paid to charges when i claim & will they notice these refund or charges? if i send an approx amount to them that they 'owe me' & make out ive added it all up correctly will they check or does anyone know if they do check?, maybe thinking if i say you owe me £2000 & they pay me even if its only £1500 or would they give me the corrected amount as this would be easier!, is it the past 6 years from now? if i sent my letter of asking in this week, when should i be expecting any response or my money back? has anyone got money from first direct yet? shame i cant claim from 'boots' they have had lots of my money & probably caused me this problem .. help any advise !0

Please read the Reclaim Help Thread for what you can and can't claim. Your claim must be accurate and the bank will indeed check your claim.0

Reclaiming my bank charges isn't going too well....
After two letters, four telephone calls and an irate email the placid response it:
"We have reviewed the fees that is scheduled to debit your account. After careful consideration, we feel that they are appropriate and regret that no refund will be made."
Plus, their grammar isn't too hot....
I feel a parachute account coming on lol

Hi, I'm new to this so please bear with me!
While I banked with first direct they repeatedly charged me both 'Overdraft Fee' (always £30) and 'Excess Overdraft Fee' (this varies from £25 to £75). Can I claim both these fees back or just the excess fees? (I know I should know this from reading through the threads but there's so much!)
Often these fees would send me over the limit again thereby automatically incurring more fees the following month! (I believe this is termed 'snowballing'?) This is what led to the closure of the account in 2006.
Also I think I shredded some of my earlier statements - is there any way the bank will give me copies so I can check through these too? Same goes for old credit card accounts.....
Am fed up of stewing about this  so am going to finally do something about it!
Any advice much appreciated - Thanks, Alex0 -

Hi all,
My claim against First Direct has been dragging on for months and i am at the stage of awaiting an order from a district judge.
The case was transferred from Northampton to London on June 19th after FD filed a defence, but it seems to have ground to a halt.
The court tell me I am in a queue, but no paperwork of any sort has come through.
At the Northampton court, the judge ordered that an allocation Questionaire be dispensed with.
Any suggestions on how I should proceed. I'm thinking about calling FD to harrass.0 -

I though it was just me - I have also sent two letters to First Direct and they basically said it was in their T&Cs.
I am also claiming Nearly £4k so perhaps they have a limit as everyone seems to be getting some kind of offer at this stage.
I have filed a claim on Moneyclaim online now - hope I have done this correctly it seemed quite simple. Fingers crossed.:cool:0 -
Hi there I am new to this board but had already send 5 letters to First direct, thay have agreed to pay me back all the penalty fees for the last 6 years £595 but no interst whatsoever  as they pointed out the interest is only payable if the cout awards it.
Should I bother and take them to cout for the remaining interest or should I accept and be happy?
Please advice:A based on your experience
Thanks for reading.0
