Things are getting odd!
Went over my limit on Tuesday with a cheque which FD returned.
Charged £37.50 for returned cheque £50 Overdraft Fee £30 Excess OD Fee,
Because of these charges snother cheque was refused today and the charge
£15.00
Anybody with any ideas?0 -
Its your claim they are reviewing not your charges and if you incur charges during your claim and indeed after the bank will continue to charge you.0

Hi, after all the successful stories on here, i thought i would try and reclaim my charges from my closed account at First Direct. It was only £195 without interest, and had an offer within 3 weeks of writing the first letter offering the full £195. Was so pleased! Thanks for everyones advice and help on here!!
Think i will be reclaiming from HSBC now as well!!!:ABoots Tart in Training

Hello everyone.
I've used the template letter on this site to claim back £225 from FD, plus interest, which made it around £280.
I've had a letter back offering £210 in full and final settlement. I'm happy to sign it and get that back, but just before I do, is it worth not accepting this offer?0 -
First direct are strange. My claim is for 1026, they offered 700 by cheque payable to me. I declined and offered to settle for 850 payable by cheque to me, they've now written back offering the full 1026 payable by cheque to the company they passed my defaulted loan on to. I'll accept this offer, but wish they'd sed the cheque would be payable to me as it would have gone to CCCS and wiped out my 2 smallest debts as well as paying off a chunk of the first direct debt.
Pew Pew Pew if I were you I'd accept the £210, as you can only claim the interest if you end up going to the small claims court. £210 out of £225 is a good offer!0 -
Firstly good luck to everyone using this site to reclaim unfair bank charges.
I would be very interested to hear of experiences other people have had with First Direct or Woolwich.
I have just sent off my first letter requesting statements for the last six years. Am I going to have a fight on my hands regarding any of these banks or did you find it plane sailing??????????0 -
Have a read of these previous posts by First Direct customers, as BoingBoing says it seems to be a bit hit and a miss with them.0
