Hi All,
Great info here.
Just used the FD website to apply for all my charge statments.
FD took out a £35 fee on Sunday night and I was paid on the monday, so it means I'll get charged another £35 next month for exceeding my o/d limit. No other trasnactions go on Sundays, they wait for Monday, so this was the last straw.

A bit late posting this but...
Received a letter of offer on the 9th working day.
I claimed £1390 but those included all charges applied to the account, some of which weren't relevant, which I accept.
They offered £1035 in the usual manner. Accepted. Money credited to my account within two days of sendiing the letter.

Not really marvellous given that you gave away over £300, but maybe you were desperate for the cash right there right then.
To everyone else, there really is no reason whatsoever why you will not receive all of your cash back. I'd urge you not to settle for anything less than the full amount you are claiming.

Someone please give me some adviceAm I able to claim for recall charges? I have just received a letter from first direct to say they will not pay these and have deducted them from my claim.0

I urgently need some help as I have today received a reply from First Direct but they say they won't refund recall charges of £37.50 each time a direct debit has been recalled. They have deducted these from my total claim. Can I claim them back -I don't know - is this just a ploy by the bank.
Someone please help:mad:0 -

Not quite sure what you mean. Can you be more specific?
What bank is it for and what are the charges in relation to?

First Direct claim that I cannot ask for a refund on a £37.50 charge when they recall each direct debit that they won't pay when I have gone overdrawn.
Thanks any help gratefully received as I don't know what to do next as these charges make up a large proportion of my claim and the offer they made says that they will not review recall charges.
Thanks0 -
You can claim that back. They are lying when they say you can't.With all of my dietary restrictions, I'm left with lipstick and water0
