    Hi there,
Has the woolwich given you any grief yet.
I have just posted my letter to them requesting statements, very anxious about their reply.
  • Thanks. I think I'll accept their offer, if they actually charged me what it cost to administer my account when overdrawn, it probably isn't far off the difference between the two sums anyway. :)

I received a letter also this morning from first direct along with my £10 postal order back. I carn't help thinking they have some trick up their sleeve.

Has anyone actually received back their money after First Direct sending back their £10 and after obtaining statements
  • Wiona I used the FD online website, and asked to see a copy of all bank charges against me since I opened the account.

They said they couldn't do that, but that they would send copies of all statements.

They arrived about a week later, a huge pile of them :) Didn't charge me anything for it either.

I read this time and time again on the boards that the banks are stalling for time or trying to put people off. In my own opinion I think the banks are trying the handle the deluge of claims by setting up special departments and moving all claims to this department. Its probably easier for them to just return the £10 or not charge as some of the banks are doing than deal with a load of £10 cheques/postal orders.

First Direct don't charge for the statements.
Also, just to let you know I have also successfully claimed back £70 in fees on my FD credit card as well as the bak account successes with FD.

Thanks Edinburghlass but I cannot understand why they have dropped the charge from £37.50 which they have always charged to £15.00.
Had a letter yestersay morning saying that FD would respond to my claim of £1045 within 10 working days. Friend of mine has got £1280 or charges repaid by HSBC to him last month and transfered his mortgate to them on Thursday!

I am just about to embark on trying to get FD to refund over £1000 in charges, but what are account charges and Tarif charges and can these be reclaimed also, some of my statements have account chg and others tarif chg
