thanks taxi ... i am sure it will be ok eventually ... deff as soon as i get a new job
well i have been doing a bit of reading about investing, i feel like its a secret world, designed to confuse and scare any newbies, i am understanding some things but really not understanding other bits, but the best bit of wisdom i can pass on is start now, dont leave it till next year, there is other bits but it is kinda confuzzling
i am however going to stick with it as i fully intend on completing this 100 month challenge with no debt ( unless i am buying a second property) and some long term savings... it may not be much but it will be something
i have been looking into retirement arrangements that we have and if i were to retire right now and live off of the state pension , i would be spending over 25% of my income on gas and electricity ... thats a future of fuel poverty waiting for me if i dont do something and soon it's kinda scary to think about
so last night i dragged my son up for a visit... i hadnt put the heating on all day and it was freezing ... it was actually warmer outside than it was in the house, i could see my breath all day and night in the house and had been sitting with layers and layers of clothes on and gloves ... so son duly arrived and i explained that the heating was off as we are trying to get control of the heating costs ( i reckon we are going to have to go up to the £180 a month after all) and i explained that this would be my future unless i did something now and that i didnt want that either for myself but most deff for my son ...his dad walked in and said " omfg it's like a morgue in here" i think he got the message ... it might be a bit of a brutal way to do things but i hope he understands ... i left him with a ... i dont want to be sitting here in 6 months time son and either re have this conversation with you or find out you havnt started ... you are 20 you have the power of compound interest on your side deal with it now before you are at my age and its a sh1* storm coming your way0 -

Well actually, I would advise waiting if you're thinking of stocks and sharing. Wait until Greece do default and see where the dust settles. You should have a little bit of time to trade before Portugal goes off with a bang. After that, it's hang onto your hats time..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

I think we've had our bumpy ride. It'll be dead smooth when the barrel goes over the edge of the waterfall..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

I really feel for anyone in europe at the moment. i think the whole place seems to be hanging on by a thread of a fingernail, not even a whole one. the thing is i can't see how anyone is going to get out of it either. I just hope that it can be pulled around, but I just don't see it at the moment. I would still like to come home, but don't think we would get jobs now. So kinda stuck.
El I really hope that you get a new job soon, but how can they change your duties without consultation, what does it say in your contract? And I hope you are getting overtime for all the extra hours
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

It has been likened to the Wile E. Coyote effect: If they don't look down, they'll be fine..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

they can change the duties very easily Chev ... the job that i first started over 6 years ago is a dim distant memory to what it is i am doing now ... i think it comes under the needs of the service or something ... i find it amazing though how the needs of the service require the night shift to do much more work while the day shift do much less ... there is a feeling that the night shift sleep at work ( i dont ... cant speak for the others) and the aim is to give them more than enough to keep busy ...
the fact the day shift can read a book in shift ( 13.5 hour shift that is) is totally ignored ... there were 17 books found all of which belonged to the day shift ... speaks for itself really ... dont get me wrong some of the day shift do work and they work hard ... generally dealing with the things that the night shift cant ( dr's, consultants etc ) and not all night shift workers work either ... but it can be between some workers a them an us situation ... i try not to join in with it ... but when i get given even more duties ( and i know the reason why cause i was told ... "el its because the day shift are not doing it ... atleast we know if the night shift are then the job is getting done") i do get kinda fed up and wanna scream " if they dont do it ... make them !!!!!!"0 -
just read back that last post ... i really am fed up arnt i ... i deff need to up my lookout for a new job ... although i have spent a few hours today and in fact a few hours this week ... i try to spend atleast 5 hours a week trying to find something that is suitable
in other news i got the visa bill in today ( one of 3) it is slowly coming down but i can deff see that i will need to apply for another one March/Aprilwill leave it till then though as every bit i can pay off is less that i need to pay a transfer fee for ( trying to think money saving here)
investing learning is going very slowly ... i am procastinating about it all tbh ... i know that it will be better for me in the long run if i learn now ... but i am finding that it is so confusing and hard to understand i would rather watch paint dry ...
i need to learn how to invest in something so that we have savings ... maybe i need to look at other ways of investing0
