thanks flee ... let me know how you get on .... it aint an easy task we have set ourselves ...

so today i put £20 of diesel in the car so down to £26 ... hubby then spent £1 on rolls so down to £25 ... tonights dinner was rolls and chips ... strange to have as a dinner i think but i had spent the day in bed and hubby feeling really aggitated went for a long long walk ... which seemed to do him the world of good ... so food was basically just what ever was fast and there really ....

alot of hubbys aggitation seems to be about his work ... he is getting himself really upset about the whole thing worrying what is going to happen to him etc ... he has also been looking at his past behaviours, his lack of taking responsibility etc ... he seems to have came through the stage of destroying himself and is now at the stage of looking at what is left of him and where he wants to go from here on in

it is quite an interesting process to watch ... here is a man whose whole world basically came tumbling down around his ears ... he has had to have a real hard look at himself for the first time in his life ... and through that he has learned alot of truths about himself ... some of which he didnt like some of which he did ... but he is now slowly building himself up to be the man he wants to be for the rest of his life ... i feel quite blessed in a way to be observing it ...

i've always loved my husband but not always loved his behaviour etc ... but i think this new man is going to be much much more fun, caring , giving, thoughtfull etc to be with .... if anything about his current behaviour etc is anyway ... and i cant wait

just recalculated my mortgage interest payments .. on first march i was paying £5.99 per day in interest today i am paying £5.81 thats a saving of 18p per day .... ok not much we may all be thinking but .... that is £1.26 a week or £65.52 a year less in interest and more off of my mortgage .... and that is just in over a month

i am liking this very muchly

on a negative though i was playing about with a few calculators through the night , one of which is martins mortgage interest interest calculator , my redundancy insurance is added onto my mortgage on the first of every month .... it comes to just shy of £47 a month ... it has went up continuously every year even though my mortgage has came down ( bizzare in itself) we have never claimed on this insurance so there is really no reason for that ( apart from annual price rises ... but then we owe less so that should kinda cancel that out) anyway i added the insurance into the calculation and it really put up the % interest rate that we are paying from 4.69% to 6.99% ... that in my opinion is really high ... does anyone know ... do i have to take this insurance with my mortgage provider ? can i go elsewhere?

i am thinking that as soon as i have asset planted enough to cancel out the mortgage ( effectively be debt free but with no savings etc) i would maybe cancel the insurance anyway but i am thinking about what i can do in the mean time

ohhh but in other news ... i should be £15 a month better off with the new tax code thingy and hubby should be better off by £10 odds .... so that is something ... maybe pay for the rise in food and diesel ... who am i kidding lol

With regard to the insurance, I don't think you have to go with theirs. Years ago, they added it anyway, so you had no choice, but now you may be able to go elsewhere, so long as you are covered and can prove it to them.

thanks gilligan i'll try and look into it when i get a minute

well have done my last lot of shifts finally ... spent monday shattered so slept alot of it ... yesterday i signed up to a new mobile contract ... hopefully this will be more fun to use than the dreaded iphone but we will see ... the bill should work out at £15 a month cheaper i get double the minutes and roughly the same amount of texts and internet minutes

on the diesel front we are back to flying on fumes again not sure if we can last till friday although we do just have tomorrow to go so you never know on the food front we have had to buy milk, bread and rolls so we have just less than £20 there ... if i need to i can put some diesel in from the money saved from the shopping

but basically we have managed to scrape by for the month .. it hasnt been easy but it also hasnt been impossible ... this is the way things are going to be for the foreseable future for us now ... am excited about friday so that i can start asset planting and paying more off the debt ... i am actually excited about it rather than dreading it all

Scraping by is better than NOT scraping by and going massively overdrawn! Each month it hopefully will get easier and easier and you will be wallowing in cash at the end of the 100 months!

I'm sort of okay ish - at the Doctors/nurse on Friday morning and the dentist tomorrow :o, also hoping this is the last month where nothing changes on the CC! I am fed up of paying and then the interest seems to cancel out what ever I have paid

that must be really frustrating for you ... can you card tart? can mr dragon card tart?

it would be really frustrating to think you had paid alot off only for the cc to change things ( and i know it happens alot )

yikes to the dentist ... rather you than me ... hope everything went well at the dr's and the nurse ... hows the ankle/leg now ?

Unfortunately not, Dr Dragon doesn't have a CC and because I earn so little I can't either

hopefully as I say this month with NOTHING else going on to it then it should start diminishing and each month it should get better and better (I hope!)

Dentist is because my rather elderly crown came off - so it just needs cementing back on :D, the nurse is the Friday first thing (more blood to check my thyroid :o) followed by the doctor (my right hand is semi numb and has been for a couple of weeks), ankle/leg is still the same if not a smidge worse :(
