Hi all:santa2:
welcome aboard rjh - don't panic you never get everything done when you first start this (well I didn't anyway!:o ) you'll just find you get a bit more done each day until you've built up a nice routine.
Hope all poorly people are feeling better:grouphug:
And for the first Xmas ever I can honestly say that apart form wrapping a few of DD's presents (which I haven't been able to do cos one of them has been home ill so I'll have to do them on Xmas Eve) I've finished_party_ , I've finished_party_ , I've finished!!!_party_ :j :j :j OK so Brother SIL & kids will be here soon and things are bound to get messed up but right at this moment the place looks immaculate
Thanks for all the support :T - without this thread to fall back on I know I would have just given up or be running around like a headless chicken getting nothing done!:xmassign: :iloveyou:0 -
Oh no with everything that has gone on today I forgot to collect my meat from the farm shop, BT and Yellow Pages not coming up with the phone number and I know they are only open for a couple of hours tomorrow and need to find out when. Oh dear!! But I am so pleased about this thread or I would have forgot entirely.
*edit panic over* found the number on a fishing website as they have a lake aswell, pleased I remembered about that, tomorrow 10-12, phew!!One day I might be more organised...........

evening.
Finally finished. Not sure how. I had to keep wrapping pressies with whingy baby and the 2 cats pouncing on the paper so some of them are a little bit tatty, but who cares? At the end of the day the paper only gets ripped off anyway. The only way i could stop the cats was by rolling baubles across the laminate floor, and watching them chase them.I honestly thought they would be less interested in the decs this year.
I feel sorry for DH as he is at work all night, and i have a feeling he hasn't bought me anything yet. I don't see where he has had the chance to be honest, but i won't hold it against him as i know he will try his best to sort something. Thank god i have organised the rest of it or i would be pulling my hair out by now. :rotfl:
Tomorrow i want to do a final tidy/hoover/swipe of kitchen and bathroom. I will need to change our bed, and i really should do some ironing so we have some clothes to take away with us on the 27th. I also have some more loads of clothes that could go through the TD to get rid of em so i don't have airers up. I also will be having a pampering session (hair wash/leisurely bath)
The only thing that has let me down is we were expecting a delivery of a camcorder that my parents have bought us for chrimbo and it is sat in a parcelforce depot, so we won't be able to film charlies 1st xmas. Unless i don't open his pressies till it arrives - not like he'll know is it.I reckon the next delivery day will be the 27th, and we will probably not have it now till the new year with being away. I AM NOT GETTING STRESSED!
Good luck getting your last bits done. I'm definitely not going to have time to get back on now, so have a good one everyone. 2007 is going to be my year of organisation, so will definitely be back.
Love

The pressies are 98% done... just printing out SIL's and the wrapping of two of them now :j
Took some time out today to collect DD from IL's..it was supposed to be 2 hours there / 30 mins there gathering stuff up / 2 hours back...it turned into 2 hours there / 2 hours visiting / 3.5 hours back as we came the A-roads instead of the motorway so we could see all the Christmas lights :xmastree:
The break has done me good though as I'm starting to remember things I'd forgotten about .... like needing new bulbs for the fairy lights which decided not to work last night ;)
My list :rotfl:- Clean house top to bottom in all rooms

- Mop kitchen/livingroom floors
- Bleach mould in rooms as appropriate

- Laundry - maybe laundrette depending on how much washing and whether I want to turn the heating up to get it dried faster.

Morning all! Evening Denise - is there a sense of hysteria in your house now?
I have my Christmas present a day early - it's an empty ironing basket :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Thank you all so much for getting my butt kicked this year. I'm now relaxed, the house is clean and tidy, and I can go and enjoy today, knowing there's not much left to do.
Off to the seaside soon for cricket and fish and chips. Then candle lit service at church. Followed by the traditional reading of The Night Before Christmas and The Grinch.
Since yesterday we have:
Bolognaise – cooking
Fridge-bottom-soup – in Rayburn
Cake – iced and decorated by DS
Turkey – collected from butcher and stuffed
Rayburn – polished by DD
Children’s beds - changed
Kettle and hob polished by DD
Compost bin – emptied and cleaned
Floors hovered and swept by DH
Our room - wardrobe mirrors cleaned, dusted, swept by DD
Fridge – cleaned inside and out
Bread cupboard - cleaned
Tablecloth and napkins - ironed
If I don't get a chance to get back on,
Have a lovey time everyone, and big :grouphug: to all who are lonely, bereaved, or under the weather.

I have dinner in the oven.. we have christmas dinner today instead of tomorrow.. we like to gorge on sweets and junk food tomorrow.. plus I am usually to tired to do much but cry lol.
I am all wrapped.. the children are tidying the play room so Santa thinks they look after their stuff (ok so really it is so we can plonk them in front of a fillm and bring all the christmas boxes down into there so we don't disturb them tonight when they are 'sleeping'... shhhh)
Cards all sent.. but for about 5 which is excellent going for me!
everyone bought for except 1 sister and my mother is on the phone NOW as I type saying we are off shopping to get her something...
Have a wonderful day tomorrow all of you because I probably won't get back on as I have the entire house to tidy and a mountain of clean washing to shift from the kicthen (dh is mopping the floor at the moment) and I daren't even go in the front room!!

Just a quick post to say Merry Christmas - I won't even risk smileys as I using emergency dial up account, forgotten just how slow it all is.
Still got mountains of unpacking to do, but we are in a reasonable state for tomorrow and with everything wrapped. Still got a cake to decorate and desert to make though.
Lovely OH went to BnQ and bought tons of half price decorations so we truely are festive - never been an option before due to lack of space.
Scary amount of cleaning to do -the house is huge and has been empty for a year. Need to rethink routines from Boxing Day.
Have a good day tomorrow everyone, and thanks for all your support.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Well in true flying stle.. my wash basket is empty, I just have dinner pots to wash and a loaf to put in. My front room is twinkly tidy (until fat boy arrives with his sack of swag and tips it all out on my floor!!) The worksurface that has been on my list for the last 3 weeks is now clear of clothing.. and full of dirty plates.
My shopping is all done wrapped and ready to give.
The chillies are all fed washed and most are in bed sleeping now... and they better just stay that way I am exhausted!!!! I have a raging sore throat and no doubt it will become tonsillitis as usual.
Anyway.. have a great day tomorrow all!
