Hey Baileys - good to see you back.

Just back from doctors and this baby will be due 2 days after my DS's 4th birthday. It's still extremely early so we won't be telling anyone for a while especially as we lost a baby at 14 weeks earlier this year. I'm absolutely terrified so I'm gonna try and busy myself round the house with tidy up and washing before we go out to the cinema with friends this afternoon.

BTW anyone got any tricks to disguise me not drinking - Is walking around with a full glass of wine all night feasible?

Oh and I just bought half price wrapping paper - feeling very MSE. And it's metallic in colour so can be used Xmas and all year round :D

  • Firstly congrats PUNKY!!!!!!!!!!!

You could just tell people you have an upset staomach following on from xmas excess!

    Anyway,

I am getting ready to start flying again, my plan is to blitz the house in small manageable doses tomorrow....need to sort out the garage too as it looks like the spare bed is going in there so I can turn the spare bedroom into 'me' space......:j

I shall post my list this evening.

  • Congratulations Punky :j

    About not drinking, you could:
    1. say you have over done it recently & need to give your liver a rest
    2. drink something that looks like it could be alcoholic, ie tonic water instead of G&T/V&T or elderflower and sparkerling(sp) water instead of a spritzer
    3. say your trying for a baby and you thought you would have break from alcohol
    4. your driving so can't
    5. sorry unable to think of any at the moment.
    Must go and hoover.

Christmas is over in this house :( We decided to take the netlights out of the window a couple of days before we go away so that it won't look suspicious them not being on while we're away ;) Today we took the rest of the decorations down except for the paperchains which will come down later or tomorrow. It was OH's idea but I don't mind as it means that come the New Year when we come back I can concentrate on getting DD ready for back to school, and then start on my new year clean up and clear out :D

At the minute I'm sorting out the stacks of papers that have appeared over the past 2 weeks  I have tonnes of shredding still to do but I'll do that later ;) OH is currently attacking the ironing pile thats been there since before Christmas :o Need to get on.

congrats punky - dont forget to moosey on over to the MSE baby club sticky in the marriage, relatonships and families board and join in the fun  (a non-alcoholic one for one)

as for the not drinking...non-alcoholic drinks often look and smell similar to alcoholic. drinks. you could be "taking medication" which means you cant drink (although that would require a further back up story  ). the detox one is quite a failsafe - you wont have to feel too bad about lying then.

as for this flylady malarky...i made fantastic progress before christmas, was feeling really inspired and on top of things. i decluttered like i had never decluttered before

then i fell ill with that dreaded sickness bug, christmas came and went in a blur, and im back to square one again with mess everywhere, and all evidence of my declutting removed :( it feels so disheartening, and im finding it hard to know where to start. anyone else feeling a little lost? can someone wave a magic wand for me please :D

Only the IL's for New Year. We alternate whether we spend Christmas or New Year there each year so that we can share our time between OH's family and mine. ;) Also means I cut down on the number of Christmas dinners I have to cook :rotfl:
