...doesnt have to be a 'Thelma and Louise' but there may be some small things you can do to make your life better - another good reason for having a chat with the corpse in your dream land! who better to help you than you? you may find it easier to do a meditation/visualisation though. you would have far more control over that. if this interests you let me know and i will either recommend a site or give instructions by pm or even on here if the board guides dont object!

Not sure exactly what this entails but will consider giving anything a go at this point. :)
I would suggest you find yourself a week or 2 of respite away from duty and do very little other than agree in your own mind to meet the corpse and listen.

Haven't got a hope of that, for various reasons. I could always just lock myself in the bathroom for an hour? :D (Making light again, I understand your thoughts though.)

    Appreciate the replies.

The impossibility of getting some R&R strikes me as a good reason to try to get some. I am fairly convinced you really need some time away and I think you know it. Perhaps it is time to ask the good people of this village how to get it?

If you are that central to things that you cannot get away, then you cannot be allowed to collapse in a heap. Yes, I know you will carry on - but you need some caring for too.

Thanks DV. There really isn't much I can do about my lot at the moment. We have many things going on and I'm pretty much the glue that holds everything/one together and the salve that stops everyone killing each other. My eldest is not the easiest of people to deal with at the best of times. :D

Just to top it all off, I've just had my middle one on the phone this morning asking to come home as his girlfriend has asked him to leave their flat. We don't even have a working bedroom for him at the moment, it's a bare plasterboard/bare floor junk room - come - tool room. Couldn't be worse timing, it never rains but it pours!

I've decided that although there is nothing much I can do about home/family things, there is something I can do about me. So I've just hauled out my old trainers and and gym kit and am making a date with the treadmill tomorrow morning. If nothing else, I will be a source of entertainment for the young fit things around me. :o:D Eldest is coming too, maybe a while on the exercise bike will tire him out enough so I don't have to listen to him moan for the rest of the day. ;)

Hey, great! Whatever it is, you need to do something for you for a while.

Alias - if you are the glue etc then you really do NEED some R&R time! its great that you have decided on some exercise - pity its not out in the fresh air though! hun, sounds to me as if you are buried by the wieght of your responsibilities! it also sounds as if you have kids who are old enough to take some of that wieght off you!

you say you arent sure what a visualisation is - in its simplest form - its like a daydream, but a structured one. it can be used simply for relaxation, or with a specific purpose (such as meeting an aspect of yourself or if you are spiritual, a guide or leader), you write the script and you control what happens to a certain extent. its not difficult to learn and most people enjoy it. I led many sessions with a group at the charity I worked for. but once you know how to do it you can tailor the vis to suit you.
