Aliasojo? I know from previous threads you have had deaths in the family..........do these dreams come AFTER the funerals? the reason I ask is that I had a recurring dream about my dad after his funeral - he would knock at the door and I would open it and see him there - dead but not dead, scream and shut the door. I told my daughter as this dream was coming every night and I was really upset by it! she suggested it was because my dad died suddenly but mum had phoned me in a panic that dad was having a heart attack, I told mum to hang up and phone 999 which she did, while I LITERALLY ran the mile to their house..........and was too late, Dad had died.
so, next time I had the dream I invited dad in and we sat and had a cuppa and chatted - didnt even say anything important! I never had the dream again. I dont know if this will help you in any way - but as others have said perhaps you should try just talking to the 'corpse'? it may help you.0 -
My worst dream (waking dream??) was when DD2 was about a week old and at the side of my bed in her moses basket. At the time I felt like I was awake which made it even more frightening. I was with my ex at the time and he was asleep next to me. I 'dreamt' (I honestly did think I was awake at the time) that DD2 was suddenly in bed with me, even though I knew/could sense she was still in her basket. It turned out the baby in the bed was evil, it was hissing and spitting in my ear that it was going to kill me and slit my throat and then it would do the same to DD2. I could feel it's hands round my neck and it's long nails/claws digging into and scratching my neck and I started to struggle to breath as it was sat on my chest. I was paralysed all over and I knew that if I could only wake my ex up it would all be over, but I couldn't move. I remember straining to shake him or kick him, but my hands and feet just couldn't quite reach him. In the end I managed to turn onto my side slightly and the baby was gone. The odd thing is that I knew if I turned onto my back again it would come back, but half asleep I felt compelled to do so and the baby was there again. I again managed to turn onto my side and 'woke up'. I have never been so scared in my whole life. I was shaking and crying, it felt sooo real, it just didn't feel like a dream. Woke the ex up, the swine had been fast asleep and hadn't felt me trying to kick him etc. When OH and I moved in together I told him about it and made him promise me if he ever felt me poking, shaking, kicking him (he's a light sleeper) that he was to wake me up straight away or at least turn me onto my side. Thank goodness it has never happened again, but on the odd occasion I rememeber the dream, I go to bed terrified it will happen again.
Sorry I can't help further, as all I can think of is the not having put something to rest in your life/past yet which surfaces in your dreams. Just wanted you to know you're not alone with the scary dreams
Sounds like classic sleep paralysis (google it). It often happens when you're extremely tired which would explain why it happened to you when your child was a week old. I haven't had a episode in a while but whilst still terrifying, it does help to know what it is and turning on your side does help.0 -
I dream most night too but usually due to major events in my life such as the loss of my parents. I understand to dream of a deceased means a new change in you? I often dream about unblocking a toilet, and this means your suppressing your emotions.
Here is a site I often use to try and work it all out...

Hope this helps.Regards,

Thanks for all the replies. I was dead beat yesterday (perhaps a poor choice of phrase
) and ended up going to bed seriously early, which is why I didn't reply sooner.

If nothing else, the funeral directors should give you the name of the corpse - don't let them do anything until you have a name. Once you have a name, you will be able to google it and you will have much more idea what this is about and how to give peace to the corpse.
Thing is though, everytime I have this dream, it's a different corpse. Sometimes the corpse is an actual dead person (it's been both my Mum and my Dad in separate previous versions, and the fear has still been as great, the fact that it's my parents makes no odds), sometimes it's been someone who is still alive (the recent one was the chap I had my first serious relationship after leaving school), sometimes it's someone I don't know.Have you finished your house refurb yet? If not, that's something that isn't ready to be buried and keeps reminding you in your dream.
No. I do have certain resentful feelings that this is just yet another aspect that contributes to my feelings of having no life.Aliasojo? I know from previous threads you have had deaths in the family..........do these dreams come AFTER the funerals?
No, they are erratic, no rhyme nor reason when I have them. Certainly not linked to actual deaths imo.
Yes my aunt recently died but I was completely at peace with this as I genuinely felt she was suffering more by staying alive. I have no negative thoughts about her death at all.
@ Money saver, you just reminded me about another dream I had the other night. I dreamt my daughter and I were at our local builder's merchant and she needed to go to the loo. She blocked the toilet and we spent an embarrassing and stressful time trying to unblock the toilet before anyone found out.
Maybe I do need therapy. :rotfl:Herman - MP for all!0 -

If you sit quietly for a few seconds and concentrate on what your mind is thinking you'll discover that your thoughts are flying all over the place with no obvious link fron one to another. We're not normally aware of this a we're mostly concentrating and thinking of one or two specific things. When we don't do that the mind goes into 'scribble' mode. That's exactly what's happening when we dream, dreams are just the mind scribbling away with minimum control of our consciousness......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

I tend to agree with you tbh.
It's just a case of finding out what the issue is. I have so many I could choose from.Herman - MP for all!0 -

I dont think its a psychic issue either, Aliasojo, I am leaning towards the idea that the 'corpse' is either a personal issue you have with someone - which hasnt been resolved (the fact that in the dream the corpse can be different people is another aspect of you 'burying' the issue) or you have an issue with a childhood 'dream' of achieving something. the corpse can be anyone in this dream and the way the corpse is getting buried while still 'alive' to you, is making me think that subconsciously you believe you can still achieve this dream or goal.
The role of the undertakers is making me wonder if someone callously destroyed your chances of achieving this dream/goal. Did you set aside your career plan to please the family? have artistic leanings which they overrode with 'common sense'? Think hun! and next time the dream comes realise you are in charge now, and invite the corpse to come sit, and talk to you. sounds impossible? its not, if you think about being in charge of this dream during the day and before you go to sleep, your subconscious will remember this and allow you to do this! may take a couple of goes (to convince your subconscious) but you CAN do this!
Good luck!

Hi there so sorry to hear you are having these awful dreams - I know in the past I have had bad ones. One example is - I am in a big sink and someone pulls the plug out and my children start getting washed away - now I have 3 children and the thing is I can't hold onto to them all. I have this dream frequently and along with the usual loosing all my teeth/teeth crumbling dreams. i know these are fairly run of the mill dreams but nonetheless unsettling and upsetting so I can see where you are coming from. Hope you manage to find a way to help you deal with them and get a good night rest!:):jNov 2012 - Loan £1200, CC1 £1450
