Hey Dude one has to admire ur "Church Bells" on this one but I think u should include the TV phrase "Don't try this at home" in the post.

If u got caught doing this I'm sure a store ban would be slapped around ur face.

Cheers - that's why I added that it was my 'personal choice' to do so.

A dollop of common sense - if the Security Dude had been interested in me and the CS girls hadn't had been busy then I would have just gone for the R&R without any shelf staking.

I strongly believe that unless you are a known face to a store - or are acting in a suspicious manner - then you are highly unlikely to draw undue attention to yourself.

When I shop outwardly I look fairly disinterested in the world around me - but I am always aware of the staff around me and if anyone is showing any interest in moi - I remain convinced that Tesco staff are too busy doing their jobs to worry about the bumbling fool who cannot decide whether or not to buy a DVD....

Anyhow the top-tip remains - check the boxes - the rest is up to the individual.

Perhaps I've been in the game too long and have Martin Riggs Syndrome....

A golden r&r is when you get the mispriced product refunded a second time.

hi i dont undastand this r & r thing. if there is a sel tht is lower than the price it scans then fair enough they cant argue but if you see an offer that is out of date surely than can say that it was only available at that price to the date it says and therefore not give you a refund. could someone please explain

You could do worse than reading page 1 of this thread....

I can't remember who coined this phrase - Taxiphil or the Postman?

It means that you buy your XBOX as a mis-price - you get a refund and keep the console - CS staff forget to mark your receipt with 'O/C - Refund' - so you either go back to the store at a different time or another store and return the item under the 28 day guarantee for (another) full refund.

It's not advisable to do this unless you paid cash & didn't use your clubcard

  • R+R cadbury's whole nut 2 for £2.20 out of date sell
the woman behind the counter was moaing like mad about out of date sel's and saying "i have told tesco's before they should not give refunds for out of date offers but they don't listen to me , i will have to get the manager"

    manager no problem authourised R+R £ £8.xx

but previous to this when we first entered we went upstairs and there were four managers arguing and shouting at each other as we got closer and could hear better it turned out they were arguing over who's responsable for removing sel's and one of the male manager's said
"if she forget's to remove a price tag its not my f**king thought if you have to give someone a £900 tv for free and she forgets to remove the sel again and you have to do it again don't look at me cause i'm not taking the rap for losing nearly 2 thousand pounds.

so own up who got a tv for free in east london ?

in tesco yesterday a sales lady had a trolley stacked high with all kinds of meat, all being reduced. 50% of meat on shelfs had reduced stickers on. Was it out of date? no! must have been huge amount of mispricing there

Just got home from a weekly shop at Tesco's and am fuming! Bought 4 packs of Walkers crisps - 4 for £3 - only to be charged full price and 4 packs of the Sensations - offer states BOGOF 150 gram bags. Went to CS and was promptly told that Salt n Shake crisps, although obviously crisps, were not part of the offer! Also told that the flavour of Sensations I bought were also not part of the offer! And the best bit? The price they go through the till at is correct, not what it says on the offer (even if the offer has no clarity at all). I really couldn't be bothered to argue today...................but may ring TS on Monday ;-)

Just to update, popped back in to Tesco's last night for a few bits and pieces and once again checked the offer on Sensations. Realised that not only had the CSA been rude but also she had told me that the offer stated 'selected bags'; it didn't state any such thing so had obviously lied to me! Contacted TS this morning as really annoyed now and they are investigating as was told "they could be commiting a criminal offence". I'll keep you updated.
