Sex and City series 1
Reported last week at £19xx, going thru at £22.xx
EVERY store I went in had it clearly at £22.xx
Today I have just noticed a whole batch with £19.xx sticker and sel
Last week when I was hunting for Stormbreaker, and eventually got one with lower priced sel.......it had gone DOWN to that price that day - typical....
So could some kind soul confirm what SIC 1 is currently scanning at.
I haven't got a scanner in my store, and I am running out of excuses for returning games and dvds when they suddenly drop the price.
I have just checked the mis-price thread and Jedi posted today that they got one, but don't know if that was scanned today, or just posting info today. Knowing my luck, Tescos have probably dropped the price. I am getting suspicious after having no luck finding any, and now both a sel and price sticker at the lower price.
Thanks in advance TOB

FloFlo wrote:Read a little about this xbox saga - now don't shout at me, but the only way the items would scan at different prices would be if the barcodes are different. So what I am assuming that you're saying is that lower lot numbers have different barcodes.
Could be FloFlo, but as we cant get to see the barcodes or lot numbers, its a bit of useless information really....it would be interesting however if the Op of this topic were to post the barcode on the box that did scan higher.Couponing....."every little hurts"

If tbw wants a DVD which SCANS at the same price as Shaggy Dog, he should just go and buy it. Tesco receipts are fantastic as they only say 'DVD' (or 'Book' etc) and you can use them to take back another item that scans the same. Just make sure there is no lower sticker on the one you are returning, and I assume it's sealed so no problem with a return.
OK tbw?
I guess you are saying I'd need to find a DVD which was priced at the price I was charged for Shaggy ie £14.xxx. Worth bearing in mind for the future - but it doesn't matter this time as very nice CS happily let me change Shaggy for an alternative. She asked a manager who confirmed it was no problem at all. Thanks for the tip.ELITE 5:2

I can understand where they are coming from saying that the boxes have lot numbers on but of course it is the barcode that determines the price it scans at. So as you say the barcode for the higher scanning one would be useful. Do the dummy boxes have barcodes on, surely the dummy boxes and display cases would have the older barcodes on if it is a case of older stock scanning higher.0 -
I think that each product has the bar code put on at the factory, it is not something which Tesco's would add on. So if the lot number is 600 then all the barcodes for that lot number should be the same.
So if you can find a Lot number which is scanning incorrectly then that should have the incorrect bar code on the box so it should scan incorrectly.
I rang all of my local stores today to try and track one down with the lot number and could not find one. The staff knew what I was asking as they just came back and said what Lot numbers they had in stock. One thing which was a bit funny though, was when one CS came on the phone he said that he had just scanned lot 631 to tell me what the price was and it had come up as being removed from sale. Dont know it this is still a left over from the last Xbox problem but he said there is no way he could sell me that one anywayWe took on Mr T and we won:D
Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now :beer:0 -

I would imagine that the dummy boxes and the dvd cases would both have the same barcode, relevant to the till prices.
Some of the actual xbox boxes(in the store room) appear to have a different barcode on them, scanning at the higher price.
I think this is impossible to predict, as you cant really ask to look at a few and pick the one you think may be wrong.
Even if you did, theres a chance the assistant would just scan the dummy box or dvd case(as happenned earlier I believe).
I was going to go out and try it, but ive talked myself out of it now.Couponing....."every little hurts"

This thread is comedy gold tonight
Well....I'm enjoying it anywayWho or what was I before you came in to my life
I am not sure0 -
You could of course go to the cs/electrical desk and ask to buy one without taking the display case with you. They may then scan one from stock - obviously no guarantee it will scan higher anyway.0
