Just wondering does anybody know if the bacardi breezer 2 for £7 offer has ended?? as theres a sign still up in my local. Even thou it says offer ended 28/11.......thanx :)
  • Hi All, I'm pretty new to this but have been "lurking" for weeks now and before I continue, for all the paranoics out there my name is definitely not Kevin or Joanne and royal blue just isn't my colour, lol.

Although I don't blame you; I don't know how you all do it, I'd be terrified, I'm afraid I blush and feel at fault if I have to return an item that I have been genuinely overcharged on ( maybe genuinely isn't the best way to put it on here, just meant one I didn't have prior knowledge of! ). Can't imagine what state I'd be in if I was doing what you guys are.

Guess I'm just a wimp! Those with a convent school upbringing need not apply to the RnRing Academy, lol. Although, I can't thank you guys enough for the entertainment I'm hooked ! It's about time somebody got one over on the big boys, good on you all.

I will admit though when I took my mum shopping this week I took note of all your trophies of the week to see if I could post in some good info for everyone else. Well, that was a laugh, every one of the items mentioned on here either had the correct SEL on them or were coincidentally out of stock!

I'm not too sure what to make of it to be honest, maybe some of you old timers could help ? Are they super efficient at my Mr T's, which is possible, it's a pretty new store, or have they been burnt by all your students already.
Well, the other night I left convinced they were really on the ball and disappointed that I couldn't pass on any info and join in the fun.

Well, fast forward to tonight when my mum asked me to return an item she'd changed her mind about. I reached the CS queue with that feeling of dread encompassing me when I happened to notice a little commotion and a gaggle of blue at the corner of the desk. Next thing the suit appears and approaches the guy stuck at the centre of it and says "Evening sir, I believed you've been overcharged. Since it's for such a high value item I'll just have to go and investigate you"

Of course by that point I felt it was my duty to find out what he had for you all, so I scanned the desk for the P.C. or T.V, none in sight so I guessed it must be one of those xboxes thingys with the new games that nobody seems sure about, after all it was a high value item, must be that at least.

Anyway, by now they had served me and I should have been trotting off home, but just couldn't bring myself to leave without finding out. So, I wandered round the corner to the book aisle and nearly walked straight into the Manager, pacing up and down the aisle investigating the eh........floor.

Well what a laugh ! Just wished there was some way I could have let the poor guy standing at the cs desk know, maybe you could devise a code!

So I suddenly became very interested in books for xmas pressies and just about the time I was surveying Gordon Ramsay ( correctly priced ) a nervous csa came round and found aforesaid manager and they proceeded to have a tete a tete, of course by luck I was close enough to hear and discovered that the "high value item" was, wait for it, six bottles of Moet................ what a let down !

Obviously they can't have met many of you guys !

In the meantime the manager had another wee friend come to see what the commotion was, a staff member in civvies me thinks. He filled him in and proceeded to tell him that the guy was definitely genuine, I mean you can tell you know, but you just have to make sure they'll not want to come back again.

Of course by this time I was nearly rolling about laughing, genuine, I wonder, coincidence or what?

Another 5-10 mins passed, another cs member trying to convince the boss he thinks it's suss, cause what's a young guy like him doing buying six bottles of expensive champers; maybe they should make him the manager.

Eventually, after hiding round the corner for approximately 10-15 mins, entertaining a stream of cs staff throwing in their tuppence worth, the manager saunters back and announces to the poor guy that he would refund his money, cause he knew he was deffo genuine of course!

I wanted to go after the guy and congratulate him and ask how long he's been tuning in for ! Thought better of it though, decided he might not be likely to tell me, he'd probably claim he was deffo genuine too and had never heard of MSE. But whoever you are congrats and sorry I had no way of letting you know the suit was playing peek a boo round the corner.

So the point of this rather drawn out story is for all you newbies out there who have or are about to experience such a pantomime, or if like me you get ill just at the thought of it don't bother standing sweating for half an hour, just pop your head round the corner and catch the suit reading FHM, that should put your mind at rest !

Sorry it's such a long post but being new to it all I couldn't figure out how to condense it and anyway at this small hour in the morning I've got nobody to play with, you've all gone to bed !

............Postie you should get up here and show these guys what a high value item really is...........!
  • This is such fun I think I'm talking myself into having a go and to hell with the nuns.........oops, think that might be blasphemy!

I do have a moral dilemma though; is it a sin to do it or a damn sin to leave it lying there ?

it isnt a question of who posts more or has got more refunds, but your post made no sense because of the way the quotes pasted into your message. As Chris rightly pointed out a link was sufficient. interesting reading it may be, but you cant demand thanks from people and not expect a response, especially as its one of the respected posters on here.
    Chill and enjoy your spoils

Awww! You trying to make me blush?

    :o
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)
  • Has anyone noticed the SEL'S regarding the moet problem? When i got this the SEL was 19.15 - no offer no end date just a yellow sel, looking at another store the SEL was 20.xx BUT it stated it was REDUCED from 24.xx!!!!

Is this another way T makes it's profits???

Again this isnt totally correct..........I believe it says
    Save £20
    When you buy

    an XBOX 360 console
    with any XBOX 360 game

So it must be a 360 for a start.....not just a normal XBOX

It doesnt say it exclude any "bundles"...although the competency of the manager you are dealing with, may have a strong bearing on the outcome.

    The current SEL prices are

    Smackdown bundle.............£299.97

    Gears of war bundle............£297.81

    PES bundle........................£297.97

    306 core system.................£194.97

    Couldn't find a 360 Premium SEL

I didnt manage to scan any of these....there were more staff in the store than customers.

Did manage £54 worth of freebies(2 stores)

And for the first time today, saw the Moet priced correctly....

It was in the store I'm heavily banned from, so wouldnt have been able to RandR it had it been wrongly priced anyway.

re the offer saying any x box game usally the games have yellow SEL's I was in a large extra and there were some new releases on a white SEL they were approx £44.xx one was a car racing game
I wonder if bought with a premium it would would trigger a £20 discount if it doesn't a possible R&R I did see a large hang down yellow sign mentioning the £20 off & this would need to be present
I can't try this myself as already in discussion with head office

Chipup - you have to learn that if you are going to go for an RnR opportunity then you might as well take advantage of the bulk buy policy and take up to 6 items, because once the CS is alerted to the misprice, the SEL is removed (normally) and so the opportunity for someone else to find that misprice in that store disappears at that stage.

    'Each to their own'.

Brindles speaks the truth - of course it's up to the individual as to how many items they wish to purchase.

I generally avoid bulk-buying - the only time in recent history I broke my rule was with the Moet yesterday - but I reasoned that Tesco want me to buy champers in multiples of 6 due to the 25% offer and crappy cardboard wine cases.

The point Brindles makes over SELs is one of the side-issues of the R&R game that annoys His Dudeness - after a successful SEL-based R&R the offending label is simply whisked away by CS staff.

There is generally no attempt made to actually rectify the error for the next shopper by CS staff.
