Tried a few xbox console & games today.

Core & game gave £20 discount correctly.

Premium & Game gave £20 discount correctly.

Strangely a lot of stores have removed the Premium stock or the SELs which looked like something was up but couldn't see what !

Also saw an Xbox Core with an white SEL of £209.xx. Were they ever this price? Wondered if this was an old Sel or a future one ie if the cores were supposed to go up again in near future.

Interestingly, as I posted earlier, I tried some bundles + game last night and the two bundles that I tried both triggered the discount of £20.

Perhaps its different today or perhaps its only a particular bundle or game that doesn't trigger.

With such differing experiences being posted the only answer is to try it & see.

If you get a bundle + game that doesn't trigger the discount & manager is claiming they are not in offer ....

    1) Ask him why SEL is Yellow on Offer til ..... (All bundles I've seen had the offer SELs)

    2) Ask them to scan a different bundle + different game, with a bit of luck it will trigger the discount & you can then prove they are in the offer !!

All the above based on yesterdays scans but if you see them try them.

By "scans"......can you explain what you mean please.

How and where did you scan them....

Strange that the 360 save £20 offer is not working - I checked myself every combination before displaying the POS and every one worked fine. Solus consoles and the bundle packs. Think I'll take an other look in the morning ;)

    Hi

I've noticed in one Tesco's near me Elizabeth Shaw chocolates are 2 for £4 and in the other Tesco's they're BOGOF. Does anyone know which way they scan? Neither store has a scanner so I can't check, but this might be a r&r opportunity for someone?

    They are on bogof.

A good one about Sainsbury who are estimated to save £40M by bringing IT back in-house!

So...the grass isn't greener on the other side
Maybe Tesco will have a re-think before getting rid of any more experience!

I think its fair to say...the cracks are starting to show out there in Tesco stores......prime example - over 1000 promotion's wiped from store's system - where would Tesco have been if the UK staff that fixed it had not been there!? hmmmm how about even larger profits lost!

TESCO...STOP seeing the ££££'s you THINK your saving and look at the £££££'s walking out the front door!

I completely agree with you HEYHO. Yesterdays debacle must have cost hundreds of thousands in refunds in just a few hours ( problem was resolved at my store by 10am). Unfortunately, the software updates to the checkouts id not work as accurately as they hoped so only half the tills got them, the other half were still having problems with certain lines. If the British IT staff had not been able to fix the problem, how much more could it have cost them?
Personally, I would love to know an exact figure for the amount of refunds yesterday...... a massive chunk of profits lost for the sake of cost cutting.

So, can anyone, of you very clever people explain what happened to make such a huge mistake?
Was it something that India should have done or not?
This is the third time in as many months that all the offers have stopped working in my store.
If I repeatedly made mistakes in my job,Im sure something would be done,so why are these people getting away with making mistakes that cost the company thousands of pounds and untold damage to the morale of workers in store.
Also the damage to customers perception of Tesco must be worth thousands,as the amount of customers I have heard comment on always being overcharged at Tesco over the last few months has increased, and they aint happy

Well.....a promotion on 1 product wasn't working as it should, so an amendment was made put in a file and sent to stores.
BUT ....a marker in the file was set to refresh instead of update, so when the file was applied it applied just 1 promotion and set all other promotions to end.

This part of the company is supported by HSC...I'd like to say we're lucky it doesn't happen all the time but as you've mentioned Pollyanna..it's not the first and i'm certain it wont be the last
the worrying thing is - the team that worked so had to rectify the problem know the system well and have lots of experience
..BUT ....yep....they're being made redundant too think they're due to go around Feb.......morale!...its getting lower by the day, watching mistakes being made, theres been more mistakes made in 5mths than theres been in 5 years!

Still....guess Tesco's was lucky it happened on a Tuesday at 2am in the morning ! yeah right! anytime is NOT a good time!!

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR why am I caring so much?!? i'm losing my job after christmas!! UNLESS....Tesco has a re-think and feels the loss of profits has already out weighed the savings!

What's the chance of 'Mac the Knife' or 'Kurt Cobaine" getting their knuckles rapped over this debacle?
    Zilch!!
Bet they continue to get their hefty bonuses despited this dreadfull service from I.T. and their enforced job cuts.
It stinks - can't he Main Board see what is happenning???!!!!

The problem with 'Common Sense' is that it ain't that common - people do the strangest things...

Shire....I'm not convinced the main board even know!! having said that I'm sure this last C***up made it to the table - I know Mack the knife was onsite I know others were informed......
Actually thinking about it - what are they going to do when SSO goes and it's all in HSC ? there'll be no point going on site - it'll be a case of hoping HSC are resolving the problem and not just sending mails between each other hopng the other one is solving it!
Lol it'll be like a comedy show don't mean to laugh but SSO have had so much dealings with 3rd and 1st level its scarey ! trying to work out if YES means YES or YES means NO !????

It comes to something when directors are ringing shift managers because the stores have been waiting to get through to the helpdesk anywhere up to 3 hours !!

Sorry guys ...no disrespect to directors (although the way staff have been treated lately theres not much respect coming from their way) but...get in the queue...you wanted the helpdesk to go to HSC you said it could match UK staff..well.....get on with it

Just as well UK SSO were there to take the call Tuesday morning! can you imagine the wait time when SSO are in HSC! ALL THAT EXTRA PROFIT LOST !! not to mention the normal sales! the customers trust ! I dont need to say more

Well,I don't know if it's too little too late, but I've started A.T.C ing everything that HSC do wrong even down to the fact that they dont understand a word your saying!
Spent 40 minutes on the line today to solve a simple problem that should have taken 5 minutes, wasn't even put on hold just listened to them talking to each other in Punjab or something, probably slagging me off,for my intolerent attitude!
Dread to think what's going to happen next year, hope the powers that be have a re-think,for your sake Heyho, and mine, cos I am starting to dread every morning but your right I shouldn't care about the amount of refunds given out,It serves them right

Well done pollyanna, everyone else needs to do the same, it might be too little too late, but you never know.

If they could do the job well enough to stand on their own two feet then fair enough and we probably wouldn't have reason to complain but they can't and they're allowed to get away with it If I couldn't do my job I'd soon be found out and my !!! kicked!

I have to say I find all this rather amusing myself. It still makes me laugh that such a big company can c**k up in such a spectacular fashion that so much attention is drawn to it as a result. I feel all the more glad that I am leaving.

24-7-365 cracking up is good it doesn't matter that it's told as it is now......what they gonna do ? get rid of me! ..OH ...Yeah...they are

Pollyanna, 24-7-365 is right - everyone else should do the same !
Problem is it's not getting to the right people

It seems telling the CCM, RM DM every M! isn't working i would imgine when they're asked if it's all going well ...they smile and say yeah because if they dont it puts them in a bad light!
But in the meantime everyone else is suffering and profits are lost!!

Somehow this info needs to get to Directors! the main board! those that think all departments are working just fine

mmmmmm I'll work on that one i'm sure there's a way

I believe that the offers are still not coming off properly.
How much this costing in refunds?
I'm sure our CSD must have done about 2 months worth of refunds by now!

What is worrying though is that customers very quickly become wise to these faults, and will come in time after time and claim refunds on these items. The beers offers came back on today, but how much has it cost in genuine refunds at this time of year to have key lines not responding to multi saver offers?

Didn't someone do a link to a website with all the directors email or work addresses on at one time.

Could we not all send them an email respectfully pointing out that some of the people they have put their faith in are, not to put too fine a point on it, f***ing up big time. After all it could affect their end of year bonuses quite badly....

Wouldnt be half as much fun, if we all agreed on the same thing...........would it.

EDIT.....Now I remember, you are the same poster that came on with some similar remarks the other day, which i commented on, and was told then by a highly respected poster that, that is what you do best.....The odd post.....then run.........trott off!!
