Isn't that the purpose of the thread to support others, in their pursuit not to be overcharged?

Whoever as an individual you may actually work for?

Hopefully Spa took this as it was intended, a bit of light ribbing.

is anyone aware of the official tesco bulk buying policy as i was in one store earlier and they had a poster on the wall by cs saying bulk buying policy - 6 of something, 1 of electrical items. now as far as i am aware this should mean if i buy two copies of the same xbox game then they are breaching their own policy?? if so they can't refuse r&r as tesco allowed me to breach that policy??

can anyone clear this up for me so i know where i stand please??:confused:

I checked it in my local store last night as I was buying lots of crisps and choc bars for a Children in Need call centre I was running. CS confirmed that the policy was 6 of any items unless it was a Tesco brand item when it went up to 10. I got permission from a manager to buy more as I had 180+ people to feed. They didn't get any of my hints for a bit of a discount. :-(

A bit knackered now - got it at 3.15am and after I dropped off the spare grub to the local homeless shelter.
  • Hi guys

I saw the Rump Steak on offer today £8.98 instead of £6.98 a kilo (or whatever it was) so bought four packs.

CS was ok with it but this other dumba**e in a suit steps in says something about 4 and to ring manager. So CS does this and
I ask him what they were doing and he steps in again and say's refunding the difference. I point out the info on the board next to him about R&R and he gets stroppy and says he will go ask the manager.

He goes away for 5 mins, comes back and says that manager says difference and thats it. So he starts doing it so I said no I will ring headoffice and he just says ok then.

So i ring them, they apologise, will ring store manager etc and call me back. This woz @ 1pm hadn't heard anything by 6.

    What next?
  • over heard today....... someone was getting an r+r on some meat that they had bought earlier in the week and was overcharged.....they spoke to a manager who said he would put it in the book (cs was closed at the time) at cs and next time they were passing to call in and they would refund it.

They got the refund on a gift card cos they hadnt brought the meat back and the reason for this was that the system couldn't refund cash because they needed a bar code to scan.

So if this is right and you get overcharged when cs is closed.......keep your barcode off the product...and return it when you go back for your r+r.
They've got cars big as bars
    They've got rivers of gold
But the wind goes right through you
It's no place for the old
  • Unfortunatly my third attempt at R+R ended in failure again today so think i will go back to doing my shopping in asda again as to be honest my shopping bill has been higher whilst shopping in tesco so for me it is not worth it.
What i did notice today is that the great big board with the policy on it that is usually behind the customer service desk has vanished. Dont think the policy was there at all as i quicky had a look at a few of the other smaller notices as i walked past but as i was trying to avoid hitting some idiots walking in front of me i couldnt get a proper look. Is that happening in every store now then?

Yep. Its standard procedure now for every Tesco to ensure you are cut up just as you try to leave. The theory is if you actually collide, you will need to buy plasters - the mark-up on Band-Aid is awesome (and is always miss-priced). All that profit has to come from somewhere, after all.
Who or what was I before you came in to my life
    I am not sure
