  • Yep. Its standard procedure now for every Tesco to ensure you are cut up just as you try to leave. The theory is if you actually collide, you will need to buy plasters - the mark-up on Band-Aid is awesome (and is always miss-priced). All that profit has to come from somewhere, after all.

Thanks - the one I really need is the full version that they display in their stores - a precis of which is contained in the first post of this thread. Customer services are saying there is a difference between an overcharge and a mis scan and therefore the policy doesn't apply.

i just thought I would point out seeing as no one else has Trading standards are not interested in wether tesco give you an r+r, their job is to ensure that traders trade legally like charge people advertised prices.

The advertising standards agency are those that you need to contact regarding stores not carrying out promises they make to customers. like r+r.

Just hit Quote (its next to the Thanks button, on the right) instead of Post Reply. It all gets taken care of for you, a bit like magic really. Not David Blaine not-real magic, more like Paul Daniels wow-how-did-he-do-that,-his-Mrs-is-half-his-age! magic.

Annuals with discount STILL not coming off, I bought the following combinations:

    Pokemon and Cars.
    Scooby Doo and Noddy.

Thanks FloFlo, haven't bought these for a month as I was sure they would have sorted it since the error first happened in September.

Don't forget newbies, don't buy all 4 together because we think the discount for 2 annuals will work if you have Cars and Scooby Doo together in your transaction. You just need to buy any stickered annual with Noddy, or any stickered annual with Pokemon.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Hi guys

I saw the Rump Steak on offer today £8.98 instead of £6.98 a kilo (or whatever it was) so bought four packs.

CS was ok with it but this other dumba**e in a suit steps in says something about 4 and to ring manager. So CS does this and
I ask him what they were doing and he steps in again and say's refunding the difference. I point out the info on the board next to him about R&R and he gets stroppy and says he will go ask the manager.

He goes away for 5 mins, comes back and says that manager says difference and thats it. So he starts doing it so I said no I will ring headoffice and he just says ok then.

So i ring them, they apologise, will ring store manager etc and call me back. This woz @ 1pm hadn't heard anything by 6.

    What next?

I don't know if this will help but I had a problem last week. It was a clear cut overcharge (down to tesco not printing exclusions on the SEL) but the manager refused it point blank. HO got involved and, once they had established it WAS an overcharge, they sorted the manager out. The HO guy said that tesco have the policy and stores MUST abide by it . He said that some managers might not like doing a refund but they don't have any choice once the overcharge is confirmed. HO apparently can over rule the store provided the evidence is clear cut - its more problematical if the overcharge is a 'grey area' and open to interpretation.

Be careful though because I have bought several 'Noddys' with other annuals and the discount has always come off.

Luckily I have quite a few young nephews & nieces to give them to.
