They also lie & tell you they have none in stock, don't know when or if they will be getting any more & offer you a refund!!:eek:0 -
Does anyone know Sainsburys policy on r+r. Is it the same as Tescos?
Have no big Tescos near me in Edinburgh, but going on a bike ride round all the Tesco metros tomorrow insearch of r+r christmas presants-will be m y first on purpose!0 -

Getting a refund after your original R+R is known as a Golden R+R and is widely practised by many of us. It's a perfectly acceptable and legal thing to do. It makes absolutely no difference to Tesco as they will just sell the item to someone else for the amount they refunded to you.
It's complete and utter nonsense to say it's tantamount to stealing. Both parties were happy to take part in the original R+R and the subsequent Golden R+R; hence no theft has taken place.
I disagree with your statement that a true MSEer should not be promoting this. Why not? This site is all about money saving, and Golden R+Rs are a perfectly legitimate way of obtaining free money.
ill echo the words re thread but just to point out it is theft.
Its theft by deception, you are deliberatly entering Tesco with the intention of defrauding them, you have the necessary mind set to perform this task and you carry it out.
In fact Mr T could if he wanted to take legal action against you, particularly persistant offenders.
If you can get away with it then fair play but just remember just because Mr T didn't recognise the mistake you do not have an inherent right to the money again.
This is a company policy and thay have no obligation to honour it if they chose not to, yes you may have a point to write a letter to trading standards but IMHO TS have far bigger fish to fry and are unlikely to side with somebody who has dishonest intentions.
PLease be careful MSE'rs, fraud is not cool nor clever and carries very heavy consequences0 -

I'm not entirely sure but I read the original post as suggesting that the poster wanted to take back the unmarked receipt plus goods to the same store and complain they had been overcharged. I thought they wanted to get a second RnR on the same item , not go for a Goldie - which I thought meant that, after getting a normal RnR, you could take an unmarked receipt plus the goods back to any store and ask for a normal refund. Tesco would give you a refund but they would take the item back.
I've had Golden refunds before but I agree that trying to get 2 refunds and STILL keep the item is taking it all too far. I might have misunderstood what was being said though.ELITE 5:2

I am not trying to obtain a second refund and still keep the item - just return the item and obtain a refund to which I understand to be a golden r&r0 -
I don't get it, why do Tesco let this go on?
Still, going via Tesco to work to see about an XBox!Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0 -

I hope you have misunderstood, as I believe Phil and I both took it to mean, taking the goods back to Tescos, for a refund,(Tesco keep the goods) not a further RandR.
We have never condoned the latter.
Maybe the OP can clarify this.
EDIT...I see OP has clarified this.Couponing....."every little hurts"
