I always used to advise against Golden R&Rs - as I thought these were illegal.
But I think Ben put things straight:
The R&R is Tesco saying "Sorry - we overcharged you - have the product for free".
The second refund is part of your statutory rights - under the Price Promise it says words to the effect of "This does not effect your statutory rights".
So a Golden R&R is legal - albeit on morally shaky ground - 'each to their own'.

PS So in theory you could take back an item with a marked receipt for a second refund - although I would imagine the CS staff would have something to say....0 -

Can you tell me how you did this,is the box there,or do you just order at electrical desk,or take a barcode slip or what......?
Cheers in advance.
I work in this store, would that make any difference to me getting a refund etc.....if i went on my day off etc....:A:T It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice. :T"A bargain is something you can't use at a price you can't resist."
