What a pathetic idiot the previous poster is.

Probably thinks someone can get off the plane and get benefits on the way to their new home.

By the way, thousands of Brits emigrate every year to foreign lands, its not one way.

contest it and then get it looked at again only for someone else to back up what the cretin has put in the initial assessment....

atos and the dwp should be ashamed of themselves. said it before, and i'll say it again, unless you are an imigrant, you get NOTHING in this country.

Any evidence at all that immigrants fare better with ATOS ?

Or is it just an assumption?
[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that

Now that would make an interesting FOI request.

You should be able to ring them up and ask for them to explain, or to put a explanation in writing for you, a statement of reasons for the decision I believe.
And if they won't provide it, simply file a Data Protection Act request.

We received the copy of the medical assessment report today, certainly a bit of an eye opener - there are things written on there that I can't remember myself or my husband saying. I really wish that I had known then (last August) that it was possible to get a copy of the report because I would have contested many of the statements on it. Obviously far too late now and the next assessment imminent.
Not too late at all. You must - absolutely must - dispute each and every inaccuracy.

If you want to go and depress yourself, try googling "ESA not working CAB" which should get the CAB's report on how the first year of ESA went.
Yes, everyone should read this. It's an eye opener.
This assessment, to a much greater extent than previous versions, is a hostile assessment. They will assume that you are an idle, would-be benefit fraudster, and will take the most negative version of everything you say.
True, and then some. They want to get rid of you even if you are genuine.

Is that meant to be proof or something?
