Does this really make a difference? If you have a genuine claim and are completely honest, surely this should be sufficient.

I DO so love an optimist.

We received the copy of the medical assessment report today, certainly a bit of an eye opener - there are things written on there that I can't remember myself or my husband saying:eek: I really wish that I had known then (last August) that it was possible to get a copy of the report because I would have contested many of the statements on it. Obviously far too late now and the next assessment imminent.

One query: I phoned and asked for a copy of the medical report and then next day phoned again, on the advice from somebody on this board, to request a copy of the LiMA pre-board form ESA85a. Is this a completely separate report to the medical report? Bit confusing because the medical report seems to be a form ESA85!

Also, whereabouts on the report does it state the number of points you have scored? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Dreading the next medical in a fortnight. :(

    Forgot to ask:

If you fail the second medical assessment and then appeal, does that mean you have to start sending in medical certificates again?

yes its a seperate report, it wont be as detailed as the medical report from the assessment, it is meant to just state why you had to be called for an assessment.

The assessment report does not usually list the points directly, as atos do not award the points, a decision maker does, usualy based on the content of the report.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that

Can't remember, can you still ring up the decision maker and ask for an explanation of their decision? And could you ask there for a breakdown of what points you received for what?

You should be able to ring them up and ask for them to explain, or to put a explanation in writing for you, a statement of reasons for the decision I believe.

I wouls advise you nip over to the benefits and work website where you will get the best help in dealing with this.

A subscribtion will also get you accsess to very detailed help in filling in the forms etc

    http://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk
I would advise againt using nefarious sites in order to try and fool the DWP into awarding benefit.

After that, all you need to know is that ATOS are paid partly by results, and those results are how many people they find "fit for work". You need every advantage you can get.
    Please stop lying.

contest it and then get it looked at again only for someone else to back up what the cretin has put in the initial assessment....

atos and the dwp should be ashamed of themselves. said it before, and i'll say it again, unless you are an imigrant, you get NOTHING in this country.
