  • oh it was very frustrating. i think the only frustrating thing is that i had a room then obviously took too long to put the details in then lost it. if it only allowd you to book a room when one was available that would be ok but i put my details in about eight times and every time was told it was sold out. boo hoo. well done everyone else though you are so lucky i hope you have a great time !
    Money money money!

I asked the girl about having the £1 room for 3 nights and she said I didn't have MORE THAN ONE ROOM so it was ok.!!

    I'm glad you've got them.

Someone on this forum did phone up and ask about this beforehand and was told you were only allowed 1 night.
It's quite annoying when different people at the same company tell you different things.

I was very lucky to book a £1 room when the hotel first opened so although I would have loved to have got this bargain again I am more than happy to have managed to book at the £29 rate on Valentine's Day.

The hotel is great and has lots of atmosphere (albeit the decor in the corridors is reminiscent of Crystal Maze!!!) Just the free water and milk in the fridge is worth £1! Add to that the generous amount of tea and coffee bags and the complimentary Pret Lite Breakfast and you have a good deal! They also had a special offer of £5 for the film channels on the flat screen TV when we stayed there last time. The beds are comfy, the bathrooms are huge and have complimentary toiletries. They sell chocolate and other necessities (!) at reception at non-rip-off prices.

The staff are all really friendly and helpful, both on the phone and in the hotel. Like someone posted, you get the best attitude and response from people by giving them your best. The Hoxton staff helped me sort out a booking problem in a very helpful and timely way.

Congratulations to the lucky people who booked for £1 and to the others who managed to book for £29 or even £59 - both very good prices for London hotels!

Yes, they did supply decaf as well as regular coffee! (Just try not to rip coffee bag while opening outer foil packet like I did and you will be able to make plenty!) :rotfl:

I had an email saying that I had a room for £1 but I did not fill any card details in as that screen did not appear what is the best phone number to ring to find out whats happening as when I rang the 020 number she said to call the other number as she could not deal with the online booking and that was automated so no use at all. I also tried emailing but no answer from them at all.

    Thanks to OP!!

I messed up on the £1 link but managed to get a £29 room for hubbies birthday in January. He usually gets a packet of wine gums or something equally exciting as his birthday is between Christmas & my January pay day!!

Also got return coach fare from Nottingham for £16 return for 2 people. This is a National Express "funfare", £8 return each.

    Total cost so far £45!!

All I need now are some cheap theatre tickets & we'll be having a proper MSE trip to London!! If I don't manage a theatre deal before we leave we'll be first in the queue at the 1/2 price TKTS booth in Leicester Square!!

I logged on at lunchtime and found £1 rooms for most nights. Did not book anything though as I wanted to take my 2 children and they had no twin rooms, and it said children were not accepted in a double room. Bit disappointed
