Said it was crazy to advertise a room available and to waste time by entering details to be told it isnt available. sent them a snotty email about how disgusted i am and what a shambles it was.
Not even a £29 room available now
It was an error on their flash site unfortunatly. Most peeps experienced what you did and it wasn't until an alternative way of booking was found that you were able to booked the £1 rooms. Sorry you missed out0 -

hi, i've trued using your shoddy £1 booking service and, every time i check out,
I keep getting:
CONNECTION STATUS: Unable to submit reservation
Invalid_RateType.
"At first I thought that this was because somebody had booked the room before me,
but no. Three times I went back to the homepage and resubmitted my reservation
through the booking service, each time for the same dates. I was only trying to
book a room for my elderly grandma to come and visit me down in London, but
thanks to your shambles of a booking service it looks like this will never
happen.
thanks you so, so much, Hoxton."
and then they replied with THIS!!!:
I am afraid the message you are getting means that all 1 pound rates are gone
for the requested date. Please try another date or rate plan
Thank you
what complete tripe.
why is it tripe? Because you never got a room?0 -
I managed to get one night at £29 which I'm more than happy with. We're going to Paris for a few days so we've booked the night before we leave, (first time abroad for me!) and this means we won't need to travel in to London at peak time the following morning.
After I booked this, I noticed the night we come back was available for a pound so tried to book that, but just got the same error as everyone else when I submitted the reservation. The extra night would have been lovely for a pound, but I'm chuffed with my £29 one!
Thanks to the original poster, as I didn't know this offer was on again until I read it here.0 -
I have just got my email confirmation. I managed to get a double guest room at £29. Unfortunately, I must have only booked room for 1 adult. I have emailed them, hope they will allow me to change booking to two adults. I would hate to leave the wife behind.0

You should be ok.
The price is per room.
Doesn't matter whether it's one or 2 adults.
I think I read this on their FAQs.0 -
For all of us who missed out on the £1 offer can anyone suggest a good hotel to stay in? I shall post another message on the trips and holidays board.
Would appreciate recommendations. Had hoped to get a £1 room for OH's birthday.0 -
Found a few £1 as was on since 12:30, everytime I put my details in I got:
CONNECTION STATUS: Unable to submit reservation
Invalid_RateType.0 -
Just received my confirmation.
Now says on the site that all the rooms sold out in 35 minutes!!!0 -

I am very sorry you didn't get a room, but you are behaving like a spoil child.
Was is too much to expect?
Frankly YES.
It was a very limited offer with many limited parties.
It was unrealistic to expect to get one, although many of us hoped for one.
If you are really keen for your grandma to visit you then why don't you give her your bed for the weekend and share with a mate, or ask one of your mates if you can sleep on your floor.
Why don't you arrange it when oe of your students mates is going back home and there is a spare room free.
I'm sure there is a solution to your problem, but blaming other people isn't it.
Well done to all the people that got a £1 room.
I got a £29 plus a £59 and I'm very pleased with that. I think it's a bargain for the location and standard of hotel.0
