We all could meet up for a MSE meal out one day! We'd all get on well and lots of vouchers to go round ;-)
At least we would'nt feel like billy no mates, if everyone is using vouchers, as well. So where is it to be then, pizza express? Just pick a town :rotfl::rotfl: but not before next year :rotfl:Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

I find it really boring without a bottle of wine at the weekend (even worse now I have stopped smoking).... what else is there to do on a Sat eve if you are not with friends? I get bored watching TV all eve, there are only certain programmes I like. I guess a lot of you have OH's but when you're single and people ask "what are you doing at the weekend?" you feel like you HAVE to be doing something really interesting or else you look like a saddo... well that's how I feel anyway!
My OH works a shift pattern so quite often I spend my weekends doing nothing when he's in work! Hmm that makes me sound like I have no life outside him, now THATS sadSavings target: £25000/£25000

I'm a single parent and always feel daft when someone asks me what i'm doing that evening. Once the kids are in bed I just sit and watch TV or pop on the net.Official DFW nerd no 551 - proud to be dealing with my debts

I always think if I had kids it would be a good excuse as to why I am staying in on my own on a Sat eve, but if you are asked the same question?? What are these people that ask the question doing tonight? lolDebt Bust LBM 01/01/2013 - [STRIKE]£11,115.28[/STRIKE] £10,593.81

The trouble is, there are so many expectations in soceity, with people wanting us to be and act, something we are not. If your happy with chillout time watching tv or whatever, what does it matter what anyone else thinks? No one else can tell you how to think or behave.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

I think people worry too much that other people are having 'exciting lives' when I bet most people who have active days (working/looking after the kids etc.) just flump onto the sofa in the evenings! I like a quiet life personally and am happy curled up on the sofa with a book, TV or the MSE forums....Savings target: £25000/£25000

I was single for a long time, and in debt, and literally had more going out than I had coming inI felt cut off from all my real life friends as I didn't have the money to go out with them, but I think that's where my online community helped. I spent a lot of time online, and have made loads of friends all over the world through my gaming habits. I've met up with quite a few of them in real life, including one from the US, and I'm planning on going out to visit them later in the year (IF OH ever gets his passport sorted out!).
And if you want "sad", one of my best Christmas's was when I spent the whole day on my own in my pajama's on Eve. I talked to random people throughout the day, made some new friends, had pizza for Christmas dinner and got through a bottle of wineMy mum couldn't (and still can't) understand why I would want to spend Christmas on my own... to me it was complete bliss and my first totally stress-free Christmas
PS: you could always become a gamer chick like me... though be prepared for either corny pick up lines or disbelief that you are actually female and playing video games lol::: Total Paid Since LBM (27/05/10): £4639.85 Official Debt Gone!! :T ::::AThat money talks, I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"~ VSP2011: #104 ~

No but it's BORINGI want a more exciting evening than watching TV by myself... it just feels so dull
I have more interesting nights in the week! It's rubbish being single... where have all the lovely men gone??? They must all be married, how crap

My OH used to do shifts too - incl the weekend and night shifts. On occasion I would have a friend round for dinner, but often I'd just potter about the house catching up on housework, indulging in a nice warm bath, and slobbing about in my pjs. I can understand that never going out can become isolating, but after a hectic week at work a chilled out weekend is sometimes called for (or perhaps I'm getting old)
