Hi Lucy, I'm quite new to this DFW shenanigans, this thread is really interesting!
I guess I TRY and budget about £200/month for food, maybe another £100 for other spends. Today went down the pan a bit as I had to pay £100 to get a new door lock when my key snapped in the lock!!
I've been keeping myself entertained with DVDs this eveningSavings target: £25000/£25000

I've been keeping myself entertained with net surfing and a bottle of barcardi that I've had in since before christmas
We don't often go out at a weekend, and very rarely drink nowadays too... maybe that's why this rum seems to be hitting harder than I thought it would lol. OH plays online on Xbox shooting people on Black Ops, and I either net surf or play on whichever MMO I happen to be subscribed to at that moment in time... currently it's Eve Online if anyone is interested
I suppose technically it's spending money, as he pays for his Live subscription and I pay for my game subs... but I'm not spending it on the night::: Total Paid Since LBM (27/05/10): £4639.85 Official Debt Gone!! :T ::::AThat money talks, I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"~ VSP2011: #104 ~

It's just me and sometimes the OH as I tend to cook for him a couple of times a weekI realised I was spending faaar to much on food, so I'm trying to keep it down to about £50/week for now and see how I go. I'm pretty sure I could do it for much less.... baby steps!!
Had a bad week this week though, takeaway on Wednesday and out for a meal on Friday, probably bumped up my weekly average a bit.... I think I need to keep track of my spending better.
I've started lurking around Lidl and Home Bargains for stocking up on cheap food basics and storecupboard stuff though, I just need to make sure I buy only what I NEED and not stuff that will sit in my kitchen for months until I work out what to do with it!Savings target: £25000/£25000

I play a couple of MMOs too which keep me occupied - £8.99/month subscription is definitely cheaper than spending my evenings down the pub or renting DVDs all the time!Savings target: £25000/£25000

I find it really boring without a bottle of wine at the weekend (even worse now I have stopped smoking).... what else is there to do on a Sat eve if you are not with friends? I get bored watching TV all eve, there are only certain programmes I like. I guess a lot of you have OH's but when you're single and people ask "what are you doing at the weekend?" you feel like you HAVE to be doing something really interesting or else you look like a saddo... well that's how I feel anyway!Debt Bust LBM 01/01/2013 - [STRIKE]£11,115.28[/STRIKE] £10,593.81
