Thanks for the advice re our freezer. It's a Beko upright frost free one. It seems to be gradually getting colder, so I'll try to stock up a bit and keep an eye on it.

Put empty card board boxes in it, to fill the space up, it'll cool quicker... I think someone else said it, can't remember who tho :o

I felt the same, but in the end it didn't take long at all. I logged into internet banking and looked through the last few months. Now I update amounts as bills come through the post, e.g. water, council tax etc. I upate every so often to make sure I'm on target for the month. I decide an amount I'm trying to save and haven't done too bad so far. The next step would be a clothing/entertainment/food etc budget, but that's some way away. At the moment this suits me fine.
    .
I've downloaded the excel version of the MSE budget planner so I can just add to it as I find stuff.
Just walked down to the post box - it's BALTIC out there:eek:

Back again....have decluttered loads of baby-related stuff. OH brought down 6 crates (yes, 6!!) of baby clothes from the loft yesterday. These have now been sorted - sister is having all the newborn/up to 3 months stuff, plus nappies and the clothes she lent us for DS. I'm a soppy old so and so and have kept a few bits and pieces that I couldn't bear to part with and the rest is off to charity tomorrow.

Someone's coming to collect the cot later and tonight I'll be going through the boxes of toys OH brought down...sad to be getting rid of them, but if no children are using them then what's the point of keeping them?

I've liberated 5 crates which I can use for my stock - which allows me to store it in the shed without it getting damp. I'll be able to put my hoover in the cupboard before long...bliss!!

Kitchen is also on the go, have:

wiped down the sides and cupboards
DW x 1, unloaded and half-full again  AND I did a sink full of washing up
    WM x 1
    BM x 1 (yum!)
Cleared cupboard for glasses and restacked
Refereed numerous 'disagreements' between DD and DS (and it's only Monday...arrrgh)

Right, I'd better be off - menu planning to do, bits for my meeting tomorrow and dinner to plan.

Freezer is coming on Friday - I think the old one will be empty by then - it'll need to be, it's being switched off late on Wednesday to defrost!!

    Have a good evening

  • Its all gone a bit wrong on this first day and I only joined a few hours ago!!

Heard water spurting from under the fishtank and one of the pipes on the new filter was gushing out everywhere!! So cupboard cleared out, wiped all the water out and then dried it before putting it all back in!

Then... Went to fill the tumbledryer with the washing & it told me it needed the heat-exchanger cleaning, so pulled out the exchanger to be greeted by a flood of water! So soggy carpet & soggy me:( Cant even get the silly thing to work now:mad:

Still I suppose the fishtank is in the living room so that can cxount as a cupboard cleaned out:D

I don't think I have done much.. but I have had a shower and dealt with DS1 tantrumming.. is it bad I want him to live elsewhere? He is so much like his father in his lack of control and screams and shouts when he should be listening. I can't believe I put up with such behaviour from KH for so long.. I must be mentally defective!
