Which means I should really do a proper budget - it's just the thought of having to find all the figures :o

I felt the same, but in the end it didn't take long at all. I logged into internet banking and looked through the last few months. Now I update amounts as bills come through the post, e.g. water, council tax etc. I upate every so often to make sure I'm on target for the month. I decide an amount I'm trying to save and haven't done too bad so far. The next step would be a clothing/entertainment/food etc budget, but that's some way away. At the moment this suits me fine.

After the public rant I'll have to apologise in public. Looks like it wasn't DS1's fault that the freezer defrosted. The door was definitely open and it was probably me. :o:o:o I wonder if the universe just wanted me to have a tidy freezer, finally use up some stuff and plan meals for a couple of days. :(

I'm a bit worried now, though. The temperature in the freezer has gone back down, but not as low as before. It used to be around -20 and now it's -8 (was -11 a bit ago). Any advice gratefully received.

Does it have a 'memory' button, if not please tell us what make it is and we'll try and help.

Mine does it occasionally.. I flick the fast freeze button and it seems to reset it again.. it is often not so cold when it is emptyish and has been opened and reclosed and it takes a while to get itself sorted.

  • Hya all,
count me in on the bottomest rung please.
One day my house will not be CHAOS, but it hasn't happened yet;)
Must make the most of this week. Half term means no work going out to work for and no daily DGC visits that last long enough to make a mess but not long enough to really clear up after themselves!!
Do have planning to do, but can fit in some HHCs,
    Cheers to all, Silver x

If its quite empty stuff it with newspaper, this will reduce the amount of airspace and should therefore make it colder (Also saves on electric too!)

Dinner decluttered, DW back on, im ready for work so im just having half an hour to myself then off I go till 10pm. Will catch up on thred later when I get home.

Got my car back :j feel like I've lost an arm when it's not here, I'm even worse when t'internet goes down like it did on Friday  didn't know what to do with myself.

I wouldn't dare let teenie have a contract phone, he cannot be trusted with one, he can't even manage a week without losing the charger or the phone itself so there's no way he'd be let loose with a contract, he's 18 now so when he's earning (falls about laughing as it looks like he has no intention) he can get what he wants.

Pollybear I missed the memo, are you moving house?

Hi to the Scotland gang  Welcome new people x

Erm, I've done washing and made the dinner (pot noodle and heated up a cheese pastie :D ) tidied around a bit and brought the bunnies in.

Nicki they used to sell Henry bags in Asda if that's any use to you, don't know if they still do mind.

gonna spend some time with littley now, she's gone orf the idea of a walk on the beach lol

Well the whole house has been cleaned to acceptable to the eye levels. Everywhere has been hoovered, the worktops in the kitchens have been cleaned down, and crockery put away. Loo cleaned, windowsill cleaned and taps have grotbuster on them as we speak. Hopefully friend will forgive the bedroom being a mess (she shouldn't be in there anyway), and I need to rush a load of washing out to the garage provided she doesn't turn up whilst I'm typing this.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

embb - no, I'm not moving house (then I really would have a breakdown), we're having the kitchen gutted and refitted at the beginning of April so everything will have to be emptied out and moved upstairs or in the living room, so I'm trying to get rid of rubbish so that I know what's there can go straight into boxes.
