I've started doing my budget planner, based on estimates. I DEFINITELY need to start doing the spending diary. Most of my money goes on the gym/personal trainer/reflexology/sports massage/hairdresser. I should be able to reduce the reflexology over time - I'm on weekly sessions at the moment, but it's usually fortnightly or monthly,. The personal trainer should also reduce from twice a week to once a week when I'm back running again. Sports massage will stay weekly, as she's sorting out my posture and I want to focus on that this year. Hairdresser is a necessary investment for work...
So spending diary needs to start March 1st and I'll try to backfill a bit of data each time I fill it in, so that at least Jan & Feb are as complete as possible and I can try to get a really clear view of what's happening.
Pay rise doesn't kick in until April, so by the time I know what I'm going to be paid (assuming HMRC get it right first time rather than giving me a new tax code every 5 minutes for the first 6 months of the year), I'll have got the hang of what I'm spending and be able to (hopefully) allocate ALL the extra to mortgage/savings. If I can build up my mortgage overpayments to the same rate I'd be paying on the biggest mortgage I can get, then there is no chance of a nasty surprise!0 -
Pay day is tomorrow (Monday) so I'll start a spending diary then. Will do a food shop tomorrow but lots of stuff in the cupboards so will try to keep it to a minimum!!
Why am I still up?????
just went to look at spendingdiary.com and found I had previously registered and my pc remembered the user name a password!!!!!!!!!!!LOL I have no recollection of doing that!!!!!!! Never used it mind you!!!
Might do so now!!!!Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last0 -

Morning All
Went to Ikea yesterday - only came back with a grater though so did really well.
I'm on a First Aid course all day today so I need to do my packed lunch in a min - need to leave around 9 and then will be back around 4.30ish. DH was supposed to be taking the kids out for dinner and then going somewhere else with them as DS missed a party yesterday because we went to Ikea. However because DD refused to tidy her BR last night he's said he's not taking them anywhere. I've ended up telling DS I'll take him somewhere when I get back if he hasn't been anywhere as it's not fair on him but I don't really want to have to do that after I've been out all day and then back at work tomorrow.
I'll join in with the spending diary. See if I manage to keep up with it this time.
Right, I suppose I'd better make some dinner and wash some dishes.
Have a good day all
Hugs

Sockdrawer, I have a guilt free allowance, or adult pocket money for my craft/mags/random buys. This is only £10 pw I rarely use it so it builds up for when I do need something for a project.I am also on a finish the last project before you start the next one drive.

Regarding the one project at a time, shhhh, I am doing two at the mo. That is so much better than normal! Problem is my mind is flying with projects I can do afterwards, but I am definitely not buying any materials. Definitely.
Sockdrawer, your right about DH. I figure buying too many books is a pretty small sin. I'd like details for the spreadsheet though. x
Flying wise, I am looking at the sky trying to gestimate whether it is going to rain, think I peg washing out anyway. Then need to decide what meat to get from the farm shop for the week. Will look through library slow cooker book. Am thinking something I can stretch from a roast to a pie to sandwiches to noodle soup.
List:

Clean DS1 coat (mud from playing football)
Food shop

Hidi-Hi Campers,
I am so rubbish at this, but I think it is a lot to do with how much rubbish we have here.
I keep up with the cooking, washing up, washing and drying - including bedding.
However, lots of the rest goes to pot.
I really need to do as Pigpen says and look on every day as a new opportunity to get stuff done. If I start a clearance effort in one small corner and treat the huge dumping ground that is our house as a major dot-to-dot challenge that might start to make a difference.
Thanks for listening, I find this whole housework thing very demoralising.
Have a good Sunday, hugs to those who need or want, Silver xOutside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

Morning lovelies!
The sun is shining today woot! :j which is just as well as we're off to Newcastle for the day erm shoppingI concocted my list last night and looking at it this morning after reading the thread I really only NEED 2 things on it, shoes for me and trainers for teenie we're both walking around with holes in our shoes so do NEED them, 3 other things are for one of my housebound customers but they're from Lakeland....and Boots....Nnnnnnoooooooooo I must resist....the new purse and bag from accessorize I've been coveting for at least a month now are NOT necessary and it's my Birthday soon so could buy with birthday money *thumbs up*
Aaaaaaaanyway, not doing much in the house today as we'll be out for most of it cos we've got MIL's birthday tea later on, will potter in the kitchen and tidy up the LR and sort littleys uniform/school stuff for tomorrow.
2nd brew time....0 -

Thinking of taking wee daughter as well, as she gets ear infections (her ears don't "clean out" properly and fill with dead skin which leads to infection.. sorry if TMI) It does seem very gentle from what you have all said.
DH swears by these. His Vesuvius ear responds really well to HOPI candles. We buy them in bulk from the Chinese pharmacy. BIL goes in and gets us a discount.
PenPen I hope your finger is feeling better. Thanks for the verdict on West is West. Keep your beady eyes off Jimi - he's mine!:p
CY - I've done a freezer inventory and plan to eat out the freezer this week. I need to make some space for batch cooking when I have my op and when I take DH away for his birthday.
DH is calling downstairs for a tray of tea. It's still upstairs from yesterday. My broken hand still won't carry trays and was challenged to hold a glass of G&T last night. 9 weeks tomorrow since I broke it:(
We walked home from a party last night and my knee was ok. It still feels very tight but the terrible pain has gone. I am going to walk back to the party venue to collect my car this morning so that should give it a real test.
DS2 is playing football at 11.30 and the sun is shining.... must find my sunglasses..... and the camera battery charger......
Hope everyone has a good day!0
