I've used the hopi candles on DS3, he likes it but I haven't found it does much. From what I read it is a myth that the residue in the candle is from your ears, I think it is the remnants of the beeswax - I'll go and see if I can find it.

Thanks Dusty Interesting reading. AnW's Mum I only heard of them a couple of months ago from a poster in a clinic, so no, you're not alone :) Seriously thinking of trying it out though. Would try about anything to get rid of these scary (lots of visual effects, nausea, etc etc, though not painful) migraines I get, and my ears are definitely affected before an attack.

AnW'sMum, I had heard of it but didn't know what it was, so I have learnt something too!

I keep a spending diary. Been doing it for over a year now. Very enlightening (insert fall off your chair "my god is that what I am spending!?!"). I still go over budgets sometimes, but it is not by much as I can see it slowly happening.

DH is off to buy me(! household surely?) a bread maker tomorrow.:T We have had a few before, but haven't replaced the last one since it died about a year ago. I am on another of my "How much carp is put in our food?" kick again. I cook most things from scratch except sandwich loaves. So after the initial outlay is will be no hassle to do. Next is to find a children friendly doesn't send them nuts squash if such a thing exists! All ideas welcome.

    Hugs and spoons.x

Spending diary I have to be more faithful to this. I don't know if anyone else has this problem but, I start out with a weekly budget (because that's how we're both paid) and then buy those "essentials" (usually on a monthly free delivery slot from Mr A's) only to find that I need to pick up a load of stuff locally (at MrT's) I hadn't reckoned for. I think if I am going to do it properly, I need to meal-plan for the month, and include "random" days where I am allowed to try out a new recipe or two, or three.
I'm also on a bit of a personal jag to only use our local owner-occupied shops as far as possible, however it's difficult to get some things using those methods, so I have an "allowed" list including tinned tomatoes, butter, flour, that type of thing, that is not available in our wee town unless you supermarket it.
Draws horns in..... and tries to just get on with it instead of blethering about it.
(mutters, I may also randomly spend on seeds, books, wool and fabric....... those are my..."they cost how much" moments)

Sockdrawer, I have a guilt free allowance, or adult pocket money for my craft/mags/random buys. This is only £10 pw I rarely use it so it builds up for when I do need something for a project. I am also on a finish the last project before you start the next one drive.

With the topping up the grocery shop, I am going to try to only do 1 or 2 extra shops on top of our weekly shop. I aim to write my initial list more thoroughly!!! We buy our meat seperately so need to do some extra. I am re-evaluating our budget at present!

You don't need to tell us but how much or what percentage of your debt would that clear? That is how much you are spending (by your own admission) each year on cigs. So if you throw it at your debt you'll be debt free and heatlhier a lot sooner.

That would clear about 20% of my debt!!! *slumps back onto sofa hanging head in shame*
