Sounds like a good idea BUT will the vouchers print on Apple Macs? I have not been able to print vouchers from other vendors despite loading their 'coupon printer' software. I end up asking them to post vouchers to me (which they do). I have advised vendors that their software doesn't work but to no avail. Perhaps I am just a small voice crying out in the wilderness with all them 'Windose' machines out there.

This kind of promise is aimed at those who just want to go to one supermarket for all their groceries and don't have the time to shop at various places, having loyalty to none and keeping up to date with prices/offers at various available shops is where the money saving is to be had.

Popped into Tesco by school Monday morning, checked out five items I needed/wanted, then went to my usual Sainsburys, every item was cheaper at Sainsburys.

I only bother with Tesco for specific loss leaders or half price offers where a similar offer isnt on at Sainsburys hence cupboard full of Tetley 240 packs, 6 packs of Creme Eggs and many many cans of cat food! :)

Looks like lot of stuff reduced by about 1p which you wouldnt notice unless it was something you buy every trip, but so much has gone up recently anyway I wouldnt notice anything!

you know why they email you within 36hours........................................ so they can lower the prices so they don't have to pay you anything!!

I assumed (probably a daft thing to do seeing as this is Tesco!) that they checked the price you paid on the date you bought it ie before they reduced the price.

  • Certainly don't think it's going to be worth the effort and even if you buy something you know to be cheaper elsewhere they can still refuse to give you any dosh so you could end up being very out of pocket - after all they wouldn't be doing this price guarantee thingy if they actually thought it was going to cost them money.

I just got my price check reply through with a totally different basket to the one I actually purchased (which, fancy this, was cheaper in Tesco). I'm just hope that it's cause I'm a bit silly and entered the wrong codes in...

Just did it with two online shops and can confirm that this is a complete swizz.

Half the stuff I bought isn't checked (marked N/A) for god knows what reason (presumably Asda don't sell Baby Plum Tomatoes and Pizzas then - yeah right). The other half is VERY questionable - e.g. 2x Tesco Value Tissues £0.72 against Asda's price of supposedly £1.08??????? Never seen Asda's value tissues at 54p a box.

Apparently 1st lot was £6 cheaper at Tesco and the 2nd lot was £2 cheaper - but they didn't compare half the stuff in either case.

They must think we're stupid!! :money:

Actually, I reckon this could be worked out to our advantage - provided we buy any Tesco special offers separately from our main shop.

Does anyone know what happens if we use a conditional spend coupon - I assume/hope that the price check is done on the 'to pay' price before any conditional spends are deducted.
