    Hadn't thought of that one.

The advantages of using your own price checker. You can manipulate the figures to fit your requirements.

I am struggling to understand how Tesco can get away with this without falling foul of Advertising Standards. The scheme has been trumpeted as comparing Tesco prices with Asda prices provided there is an exact match (or very close for own brand stuff) - any reasonable person is going to get VERY cross when Tesco insist that there is no match for branded goods such as Cadbury, Airwick, Kellogs etc when they can very clearly see the exact same items on both stores shelves! Its just another load of Tesco bull****.

Shame such few people get to see this thread about how dishonest and manipulative tesco can be.

Luckily for them most people will no doubt continue to blindly shop at tesco, happy in the knowledge that tesco are the cheapest. - It must be true that's what all the signs, banners and other adverts are suggesting[/QUOTE]

The customer service people must be dreading the 'But they're the same!' pleas from customers.

I emailed Tesco about removing the Easter Eggs from the list. They have no reasonable justification other than 'yes we admit its a con'.

AMMat158 - they say that you will receive a reply with 36 hours at the latest - so if it was Monday then I'd chase it up.
Maybe its taking longer because this is the first few days of the scheme and they probably havent got a clue how to deal with it.

I'm amazed that tesco appear to be doing the voucher issuing manually, rather than having it processed by the pricechecker website. They are setting themselves up for tonnes of unneccessary extra work.

I dont know if it will help, but just in case the prices change (or suddenly go "n/f" easter egg style) before somebody gets round to issuing my voucher, I've taken a screen print of the comparitive prices for each item in my basket on the day that i bought them.
I'm expecting over £40. If tesco do pull some dirty trick on me then I won't be complaining to tesco customer services. I'll just take it to trading standards... and send a copy of all emails, screen prints etc to asda head office, who im sure by now are looking for evidence to tarnish the tesco scheme - in the same way that tesco tried with asda's 10% previously :-)

Andrea - my input on Tuesday produced a reply 24 hours later. However, I nearly missed it as it went straight into my Spam folder. Probably best to check yours as you should have heard within 36 hours max.

Can I ask which 'screen' you are copying - is it the Tesco Price Checker , Asda or the Mysupermarket site ?

How do I contact advertising standards/watchdog about the discrepancies in these price guarantee schemes? Thanks.
