We burnt ours. I think we did it in too deep a bowl and then it wasn't cooked so we left it in longer and burnt it. Do you do yours in a shallow bowl or a deeper pudding basin type bowl?0

My dish is rectangular baking dish about 2 inches deep - definitely not a pudding basin type dish. What do you mean by 'not cooked' ? The pudding is not supposed to be firm all the way through. It should actually be liquid beneath a cakey top. The longer you cook it for the more cake and less sauce you get and vice versa.:)0 -
Ours tastes nice (bloody sweet), but there was only a little bit of sponge, and then a massive amount of watery syrup.

Try cooking it for longer - you may have to adjust the temp a bit as ovens vary quite a bit. It is sweet, but you can use less sugar to suit your taste.
When I make this (usually for Sunday lunch) I cook it for the 40 mins then turn the oven off and leave it in the cooling oven while we eat our roast. This means it actually cooks for longer, it produces a pud with just the right amount of cake to fudgy sauce.0 -
Sorry if I am being thick, but does cocoa mean cocoa powder? Or is it something else?
Recipe sounds great, I am going to try it.:hello:0 -
Cocoa is indeed cocoa powder
Sorry not to be clear:)

No - thanks for the help. I am not that experienced as a cook, and didn't know if it was anything else.
It's the only thing I don't have in my cupboard - besides the US cup measure. Used my last one as a urine sample collector/measurer LOL - and consequently that one is now in the landfill.:hello:0 -

Well our gas went out half way through so that might have had something to do with it, I think nextime, we will use less sugar, even I could only manage about 3 spoonfuls, and that was with cream to cut it down a bit.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
