When should ebay auction for a car close?
Hi there
I'm selling my Toyota Estima on Ebay (thank you to those who gave advice on this).
What is the best day and time for the auction to close? I was thinking of ending it on Sunday afternoon, so anyone who wanted to come and look at the car could do so on Saturday or Sunday morning, and the winner could collect it on Sunday afternoon.
But what would you advise?
Thank you.

Sunday evening is apparently the best time, (according to ebay:A) but if you have attracted a genuine buyer, they won't be fussy,I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

But they may be at work.
Most of the bidding happens in the last 5 minutes.0 -
Hiya, me again. We listed the car last night with a full description, and it now has 7 watchers. Woo hoo! One person has bid the starting price, but they have no feedback. Is this something to worry about?Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Only if they win and don't pay.
Everyone has to start somewhere.
Cash only, don't take paypal, and don't worry if no one wants to see it before they buy it.0 -
Doesn't everyone have the right to pay by paypal on Ebay? It's set in stone I think. There may be an exemption for car, I dunno0

There might be, but I'd rather refund the paypal transaction, lose the sale and be a non- performing seller to be honest.
For this sort of sale most buyers would bring the cash, give the car a once over, then hand it over I would expect.0 -
Thanks. You do have to allow Paypal but I have put CASH PREFERRED in big capitals.
I was mainly worried as I read another auction for a similar car and the person had put 'if you have less then ten feedbacks, contact me before bidding'.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

Which is why Sunday night is best, 'cos they arent likely to be,
Don't you just hate that :mad:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Sunday is not always best, depends on the item... For a car yes maybe.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
