Yesterday I went to Swindon outlet shopping (my absolute favorite)
We should do an MSE/MFW meet up somewhere like that and give a prize to the person who spends the least/gets the best value on things they needed :D

    Today for me:

    * completed my RM posting data entry
    * Marked my amazon sale as despatched and ordered my £2.60 payment. Lucky I had stamps from the RM survey as the book cost more than £2.60 to post! I sent it first class to be kind to the buyer, and because it was day 2 before I could despatch it. Actual cost to me was about 15p cash, once I had used my stamps. Book was a Christmas gift to DH that he'd read and wouldn't read again so, not a bad conversion. Just need to wait for the £2.60 to hit the account so it can go to the virtual OP pot.
    I've also:

    * sent an email to cancel a magazine subscription (had made a note on the calendar of the details of when I was able to cancel) and will be checking that gets actioned.
    * got some cheap fruit and veg at the market when I went to town (going late in the afternoon risks them running out of some things but also provides opportunities for some bargains)
    * tried to encourage my neighbour to share an AF order with me, but I think they are put off by the idea of it being OOD food :(

I also reuse plastic bags, but I've not been brave enough to reuse any that had meat in them. Have you had any problems?

I've planted out some plants today - asparagus and rhubarb. Both are an investment in the future as I won't get a harvest this year. It's used up all my compost, though, but making some more and then planting my seeds is a job for another day.

I'm glad I got them planted as it would have been a shame if I'd left it too late and they had died. And not very money-saving, of course!

No no problems Sepa but the're only sandwich bags that I only put uncooked chicken in. I freeze in bags of 1/2 and then take out how many I need for each meal. The bag gets reused when I put the next lot in the freezer. :)

    Not very good this weekend:-

    * Due to my inability to remember to defrost meat, we ended up easily talking ourselves intot he easy option on Friday night and we got a takeaway on (we almost ate in the restaurant but we discussed how the eat-in menu was more pricey for the same food)

    * Went to Tescos on Saturday - my budget was about £8/9 (I knew what I needed) but I spent £17.50 - its fatal going shopping with my BF

    Good bits:-

    * Yesterday we went to see a play and instead of buying drink and obligatory interval icecream we filled up our own cola bottles and took chocolate

    * I used to buy a programme whenever I went to something (concert, play, musical etc) but I managed to resist last nights and avoided spending another £5. I felt a bit sulky about it last night but you know what - I rarely look at the old ones I have!

    * Whilst we were on that side of town I noticed a petrol station selling fuel at 3p less than my local stations

    * Just put my Tesco receipts for March into Price Checker. Don't really spend a lot there though as have tried to swap main shop to Aldi

    * NSD today. Phew

Pretty pants MFW day to be honest.
    • I've tried to do some surveys but been screened out.
    • I did manage a £5 bingo redeem.
    • quidco cashback of £65 was declined - home insurance from Jan. I'm gutted as it very rarely happens, and it is such a large amount. I'm writing in my diary to appeal on Thursday as that is when i can do it.
    • made a batch of sausage rolls as i had to take the meat out the freezer to fit yesterdays shopping in. Will do for snacks through the week.
I'm thinking of taking the evening off now to be honest, as we have a LF disc to watch and then return so we can get the last one in our allocation before the month end.

I also have a blanket to finish knitting for a baby hopefully arriving today.

Michelle - I got my home insurance last year via Quidco with Aviva (late July). It tracked fine, was even paid it! Yet bizzarely I got an email this morning to say that it was declined - and is now listed as declined rather than paid. Not sure what this means - is it an error? Are they going to deduct the cashback they've already paid from a future payment? Unlikely - but it's a bit wierd and strange coincidence that you've got same notification

Thanks for that Curly girl. Really weird as there were two notifications, both saying we spent £195, one with £65 cashback, and one with none. Both were declined. Maybe some gremlin then. I really hope so.

Cheered up a bit as we watched 17 again, and i ironed the whole way through it. Just had a lovely shower, and i am ready for starting the week now.
